Takes me two hours to get to DCU. I'm not making the same mistake my sister made.

What do you drink (non-alcoholic) ---LOS---? It seems like everyone's addicted to coke these days!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,028 ✭✭✭✭--LOS--

Ye well it's cheaper living on the northside near dcu but where I am now, it's more awkard to get to than town.

what do I drink non-alcoholic......water, coffee, innocent smoothies esp the coconut one, they're my excuse for fruit coz I'm just not that keen on eating fruit, don't drink fizzy drinks at all really, less for mixers.

you used to be able to get this carbonated apple drink from the drinks machines, appletizer, was really nice, haven't seen it in a while.

Engineering. TCD because it's handy to get to. Backup option (as in, the only non Engineering course on my CAO form) is European Studies. Also TCD. I'm getting a strong sense of deja vu here. Now cocoa tells me to go to DCU or something. I think that's how it goes :P
    LOL

So sorry, I rememebr our last conversation about this now...where is cocoa so we can argue haha..then we can ask what type of engineering etc and you can list teh ones you definitely don't want to do.

I doubt I'll miss school because I barely went in anyway. Mitching ftw lol I told myself "ok, you're in 6th year now. This is the year where you'll be in every day". I'm still waiting for that to happen. The worst part is that my parents are totally fine with it (in fact my mum actually convinced me of staying home last friday, and the monday before that... You can't reject your mother's wisdom can you?)
I went every day, and was an hour early.every.day. with my father. It was that or be an hour late with my mother. Lucky you. I'd have to lsoe an arm before I'd be allowed mention missing a day.
And coke is sooo sweet and horrible. Too addictive >_< Coke is a mixer, not a drink in its own right. Mmmm wish I had a double chocolate frappé now.
    --LOS-- wrote: »
go to dcuuuuu! nah don't tbh, trinity is way convenient if you want to do engineering, DCU is good for engineering too but I think trinity is good the way it's general stuff for the first 2 years.

And ye coke is a mixer not a drink, I hear ya!

I'd rather both straight...or maybe pour one in my mouth then the other. mmm

If I'm still in tcd at some phd next year anothernight, I can stalk you yay! Most likely be on the dole looking for a job -_-

Haven't had appletizer in years! I don't drink fizzy drinks either :)
And I've never had coconut flavoured innocent smoothies. Hmm now I want some... sounds nice.

I hope I'm not the only tea addict here >_< Pu erh is my usual, though I'll drink the normal stuff too. No milk, no sugar. mmm

It's very hard to stalk a stalker. You have been warned.

    LMAO. Oh my. <3:D

-<3 then for the drinks bit..back at square one for you.

Then again I've just given everything but water up so I can't talk.

Meh I have the feeling Disney has been lying to me all these years =(
Only a princess can turn a frog into a person I think (or was it a love kiss? I tend to confuse these things). The idea was that then you'd just live off her wealth. Easy way out and all.

    *hides*

Oi! I'm not that bad -_-
In the original brothers Grimm story one I think it was just a princess kiss, but there were other versions where she threw him against a wall or where he slept in her bed or something. She'd provide wealth and exercise and then you would be king, it would be great. I'm still waiting on her. *taps foot*

    Uh *seeks*

I know you youngin's like to play and all :p

I'll trade for the best lemon meringue pie ever =P

Never really steam anything...I have never tried, do you need like a two layer pot...and how do you steam fry.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,028 ✭✭✭✭--LOS--

You use the stack saucepan steamer things, eloquent I know, it's just handier, saves electricity etc if you're a bit stingy like me.

Eh steam frying is just frying but with a bit of water in to cook it up with the steam, keep a cover over it. Sure it's all in the name.

Steaming is best, keep the colour and the goodness in boys and girls.

Do you, mayhap, generate revenue from literature? :pac:
I would have thought it was the same electricity...unless you have more on each layer than you can fit in a pan.

Oh so it's what I do by accident..psh as if I would dry the pan before using it. No more nails means no more nails. Can't spell the door varnish one...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,541 ✭✭✭anothernight

I loooove steamed vegetables. Except for broccoli. Took me many years to like broccoli, and steamed just goes all waxy or something weird like that. Sometimes i'll steam it if I have to but then i'm put it in boiling water for a couple of minutes (sort of like blanching, but after it's cooked?) just to take off that waxy edge it has otherwise.

Steam frying is great for eggs ^^

Ye just waiting on the call from an eager publisher, any day now.

Eh well smarty engineer pants, I just meant as opposed to having things cooking in a couple of different pans, if you just chuck it all in a frying pan s'all good though, I do that a lot too, endless stir fry possibilities.

Overly steamed veg is not good, don't steam them for that long.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 60,119 Mod ✭✭✭✭Tar.Aldarion

I know how weird broccoli can get, it's a harsh mistress...it took em years to like each individual vegetable and at first I would only like each a certain way etc...now I'd practically just pick up an onion and dig in hehe. Blanching...confused face.

God eggs are great in any way! Just bought some, come on breakfast! Here we gooo

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,541 ✭✭✭anothernight

Oh I didn't mean overcooked broccoli. It's just that broccoli seems to have a weird waxy sort of taste if it's not fried or boiled. Like raw broccoli is waxy too.

    Mmm fresh vegetables ^^

You'd have to pick me up for breakfast. Too sick to go myself =( *waits*

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,028 ✭✭✭✭--LOS--
