Clare. But don't bother trying to insult me about it because I genuinely don't care about GAA. Especially Clare GAA. Football and Hurling are great sports, but meh to be honest.

But when last have they won something of note, i.e. an All-Ireland?

Why are you even talking. Dublin have 22 Football All-Ireland's and 6 Hurling All-Irelands. Clare have 3 hurling ones and 0 football. The facts speak for themselves.

And what's that got to do with anything? Why am I not allowed to contribute? Because Clare have 3 All-Irelands? Because I don't obsess over the sport? Because neither of those arguments are valid.

And you're talking about history, not the current state of the team. Dublin had a tradition of winning All-Irelands. They haven't won an All-Ireland in 15 years. The facts are that they haven't proven themselves to be the best in the country in a long time, so any criticism is justified, in my opinion.

Here to settle it once and for all =P
Dublin are chokers, they wont win the big games at crunch time atm
Clare are playing Division 2 for the 2nd year in a row, they lost to Wexford. Nuff said

Neither team are any good or gonna win anything this year! :pac:

Waterford on the other hand.. Endless possibilites :P

This is a tongue in cheek comment obvs.. part from the last part!

What is funny is that Clare haven't won an all-ireland since 1995 and apart from reaching the 2002 final have done jack s**t in anything. When was the last time they even won munster.

Dublin have won two under 21's all irelands and 6 provincial titles since 1995 in football.

Ok... I never argued that Clare were better than Dublin, or anything like that. I also said I don't really care about Clare GAA, or how crap it is. Why are you creating an argument with me? :(

Ok... And who exactly is the competition in Leinster? In fairness, there are no teams to the same standard as Dublin. And you're missing my point. My point is:

Criticism of Dublin is entirely justified. Yes, I accept that they have won Leinster titles, and Under-21 All-Irelands, but neither of those are Senior All-Irelands. Senior All-Irelands are what matters, and Dublin have been consistent in failing to win All-Irelands in recent years.

And please don't come back saying Clare are crap because
    1. I know they are.
    2. I don't care they are.
    3. This is about Dublin not delivering, and how as a result, any criticism they recieve is valid.

I wouldnt say they favour Leinster. Its more of a 'root for the underdog' kinda thing. Leinster v Connacht, it was Connacht all the way for them!

No way would Leinster ever be the underdog in the RDS. Munster have beaten Leinster in Dublin once in the past 7 years. It's rare for either team to win away.

Who does everybody fancy for the Champion's League?

Personally, I can't look past any team coached by Mourinho.

    Inter 3-0.

Bayern are also on a high though. I'm fairly sure they did the German league and cup double this season.
The result of Ribery's appeal will be out tomorrow, that could have a big impact on how they line up on Saturday.
Whether Ribery plays or not, Internazionale will have to be favourites going into the game, but I'll be surprised if it's as one-sided as 3-0.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,659 ✭✭✭unknown13

It is how good Inter actually are. If they are as good as I think they are they will win 3-0 if not they will win 1-0.

If that red card is rescinded then UEFA are an absolute joke. Was a shocking tackle, and poor old Darren Fletcher missed the final last year over a perfectly timed tackle. Having said that, it really wouldn't surprise me to see Platini and his cronies reverse the ban.

I hope Inter destroy Bayern, after the way they acted at OT over the Rafael sending off. I quite like Mourinho aswell, next United manager, *SAF impression* There's absolutely no doubt about tha'.

I really like Mourinho as well, and funnily enough, the only reason I don't want to see him going to Real Madrid is because I'd much rather see him at United.

Come on Bob, that post is very biased and it is very clear you are a United fan from reading that post.

Well, if you ignore that it says "Manchester United Fan" in black and white in my sig, I don't think anything I said was too biased...

It was a terrible tackle (on Toulalán, IIRC?) and deserves the ban that comes with the sending off.
and poor old Darren Fletcher missed the final last year over a perfectly timed tackle.
Fletcher didn't deserve to be sent off against Arsenal last season, he went in to win the ball, and he won it. Never a red card, yet UEFA let it stand.
Having said that, it really wouldn't surprise me to see Platini and his cronies reverse the ban.
Platini's dislike for English football is well documented, I don't think I need to explain this part.

Again, nothing too controversial here, Bayern (Van Bommel in particular) acted like prícks to get the ref to produce a card against Rafael which he wasn't going to otherwise. Though it was partly the ref's fault for being influenced so easily, admittedly.
I quite like Mourinho aswell, next United manager, *SAF impression* There's absolutely no doubt about tha'.
And I don't see the problem here, I like Mourinho, no bias involved in that. He's a character, and the game can never have too many of those. People might say he's an attention seeker, and everything is always about him, but he's smart like that, the Inter team receive little or no attention from the media because of it, thus making their preparations for big games much smoother and easier.

Interesting how Bayern got the ref to send off a Man U player when Inter were victims of this against Barcelona.

The Mourinho piece in the Sunday Times was very good.

Being on holidays in Spain during the world cup was the best thing ever. Commentators here just don't have the same passion. I can't imagine Andy Gray and Martin Tyler shouting GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL after Wayne Rooney banging one in. Not to mention the Irish ones.
