Just because munster are probably getting beaten by some upper class private school alumni d4 wannabe doesn't mean you have to start making excuses if your loosing. it is only a game

Here now, for example. O'Gara hits over a penalty... "Well, I think it's fair to say the wind has died down since the first 20 minutes of the game..."

If Setanta Sport wanna keep their bloody audience that the so badly need, they'd do well to keep their commentary neutral.

There should be more balanced coverage of the game, with neither side being favoured by the commentary team.

I wouldnt say they favour Leinster. Its more of a 'root for the underdog' kinda thing. Leinster v Connacht, it was Connacht all the way for them!

I agree that all commentary should be un-biased because there is nothing worse than biased commentary.

I have to listen to it all the time with Gaelic with those meath analysts on RTE.

BTW I am not watching the game and I have said many times on here my opinions about rugby

Leinster are no longer the underdog when it comes to Munster vs Leinster tbh. Munster's glory days are over...

Oh yeah, and Munster can't scrum anymore.

Biased commentary can be so funny, though. Watching an Ireland vs England match on BBC is always hilarious.

I think in that case it's fair enough, all the Irish watch RTE and get Irish-based commentary, which of course is biased, and the English watch BBC and get English-based commentary. However, in this case, everyone must watch Setanta Sports as they have the rights for the Magner's League (which is all provincial). So biased commentary is just like some annoying Leinster fan next to you.

That said, they're not that bad.

Actually, RTÉ aren't really biased in Ireland/England games. They always give praise where it's due, as opposed to on BBC where every Irish success is treated like some sort of fluke.

True, then again in Irish commentary you have Brent Pope who isn't Irish (isn't that right?), George Hook who is just very fair, abit like the Simon Cowel of rugby, and the other lad who's name I've forgotten who's quiet enough anyway, and serves only as a referee when Pope and Hook disagree.

They have fairly good commentary as long as it's not England we're playing. The main problem with BBC is if England are winning, they talk about how great England are, and if England are losing, they talk about how much better England have to be, and how much they gave away.

It's never about the other teams.

I hate people who do that. The better team nearly always wins. That's the point. When you find yourself regularly saying "they won but they were the weaker team", you're wrong. :P

Those aren't the commentators though, they only talk pre-match, at half time and post-match.

I can't remember the name of the guy who commentates during the matches, but he's very good.

Bernard Flynn is worse he will never pick Dublin to win even if they are playing London Minors

If the ref doesn't give a penalty try for that tackle, there'll be riots!

Want bias? Read Stephen Jones in the Sunday Times when he talks about the six nations. Ireland never have a chance with him. He said England would "hammer" Ireland, and possibly win the tournament.

    Riiiiiight....

He was banging on at the start of the year about the weakness of the French clubs, and how this would affect France's chances.

Wrong on both counts there, Stephen.

RTE are the worst for that nonsense they should have a Dublin panelist because everytime Dublin are playing it is always Dublin are this and they should have done that.

When they annihilated Wexford two years ago in the Leinster final they analysed the game as if dublin won by a point.

But when last have they won something of note, i.e. an All-Ireland?

Tbf that shouldnt have much to do with it though, if you're talking about the match, you're talking about that game not what they did other years..

I was talking more in general. If they actually won the All-Ireland, maybe less criticism would be garnered, and it wouldn't be deserved.
