Good in the sense Dublin were never seriously challenged. Limerick fans will argue with here but its been one sided from the start!
Poor Soccy.. Division 2 next year
Another goal for Dublin 5.26 to 1.10 now
    EDIT 6-26..

deise, how the **** am i supposed to argue that dublin were being challenged... 6 goals in a row. And now I have some guy over in the gaa forum i want to scream at with his pessimistic views on limerick hurling ugh!
I'm actually gutted and the ref giving an insane number of frees to those dubs is not helping my mood one bit.
Just let it be over, i wanna go into my room and scream into my pillow.

Well yee kept to 8 points in the 1st half, more than I can say for Waterford..

Yet waterford have the capability to beat a team. I want to post in the gaa forum but i'm scared i'll get carried away and kill someone with my feriocous posting. I need to cool down. Look like james o brien wanted to follow in dean maddens footsteps. Any chance tg4 said the number of frees given?

  • Moderators, Education Moderators Posts: 7,853 Mod ✭✭✭✭suitcasepink

In fairness James O Briens sending off was probably the highlight of the game! :o
And now Waterford still lost and only scored twice in the first half.

I do think its time up for Justin though, it was a worse beating than the Tipp one last year and like for championship the atmosphere is normally amazing but with beatings like that..=/
I feel sorry for yee and the mess yee're in tbh :(

If justin goes and the likes of the dropped stephen lucey, niall moran and co come back, i will lose all faith in limerick hurling. And its people that don't support these young hurlers, the hurlers that actually wanna play for their county, who are pissing me off the most. Can they not even respect the lads? Its their first year for many playing championship. Abit of experience and training can go along way. And i'd say the nervess hit them hard.

Well I guess theres different ways to look at it. People arent going to be as pushed paying €15-30(depending on the game) and travelling to a match when theyre gonna lose by 15+ points..
And tbh losing by 10-35 points in matches doesnt do anything for experience. They'll begin to get even more nervous then then lose a bit of heart in themselves..
Not the players that were dropped but the players that quit if they were to come back, well then Justin would be the right man for yee coz hes all about the technicality of the game, what Limerick would really benefit from. But atm not much is going to come of this...
Anyway thats just my view on the whole thing!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,553 ✭✭✭soccymonster

But supporting a team doesn't mean you have to go to a match like.. Well it does kinda, but you can always be there in spirit (haha!). Read what thespecialone said over in the other forum. My feelings exactly.

the last of the county board meetings took place in my club a couple of weeks ago (i even got on tv :D) anywwaaaayysss, that was the meeting where justin should have been sent walking!

we were training in the pitch black and p!ssing rain waiting to hear the result of the meeting - what a bummer

justin clearly does not have limerick at heart and its more for pride than anything that he is staying

    justin - JUST FúCK OFF!

youve single handedly made a shambles of limerick hurling!

  • Moderators, Education Moderators Posts: 7,853 Mod ✭✭✭✭suitcasepink

I think I came across bi*chier in that comment then I intended too.. Opps :/
And now yee dont have it easy in the football either =P Who'd have thought Waterford and Limerick in Croker for a final.. in football :L

RHunce, justin did have limerick at heart. He had a great idea by dropping certain players and bringing in new players like some on the present panel. He just went about it the wrong way. I hope the hurlers on strike feel abit guilty as they could have come back like james o brien and restored a small bit of pride in the limerick jersey.

If justin goes, I hope the likes of stephen lucey and the others dropped end their limerick hurling careers there and then too. We don't need to be back at square one again with the team who got a batin' against tipp last year.

I agree. I'm sure Munster will do very well in the British and Irish Cup.

In fairness what he did is totally unjustified and the county board backed him up at that. To not call players to say they are dropped is in excusable in my opinion, it was a stupid decision that cost Justin A LOT. He could have had a very strong panel this year, with a mixture of maybe 6 or 7 seasoned seniors and brought in some young hurlers. Fresh blood was needed, no question, but they seniors needed to be there to help bring them through. Because of the way Justin approached the situation left him with no senior players to share their experience, instead he had 15 + subs who had never had a top flight game of intercounty hurling before and today that showed.

So we both agree on something.
Yes, Justin should have contacted the dropped players in a more appropriate manner but in fairness to him also, no-one could have suspected that it would cause such an uproar.
And look at the likes of Paul Browne, Paudie Mc, Dave Breen, they stayed on. They can see the honour of wearing the county jersey. Yes, many hurlers that left have served the county well but if they don't wanna return just because of this incident, let them be. Justin Mc has attempted to contact them a few times and is trying to be co-operative in this (fair play to him tbf) but all we can do is wait until Justin goes (I dunno what'll happen after today tbh) or for the hurlers that wanna play for their county to come back.

And the footballers, these guys are the guys we should be showing our support for too :)

What a weekend of sports; Spurs win and beat Chelsea, United do us a favour against Man City (thanks United too bad you are f**ked next week) and Arsenal sensationally loose.

Oh and Dublin beat the pulp out of Limerick. Sweet revenge.

I'm done with sport. Man City losing to another last-minute goal against Man U, plus Tottenham winning... football, at least, is a cruel, cruel game. :P

Meh, I wouldnt worry too much about it at all tbh, ok so we're down a division, we'll play some poxy teams next year that we should beat seven shades of sh!te out of to get the confidence up for next years c'ship!

Sure, the senior status of our intercounty may be shakin' for a few months but you've got to look at the underage for some belief! This county is as strong as it has been in years at grass root levels! The City/West u16s walked away with an inter county tournament yesterday, the u17s won the shield last week after narrowly losing to Cork, the u14s are better prepared than ever before, Ardscoil won the Harty, were very unlucky in the Croke Cup and their u14s beat all round em in the Rice Cup.

Footballers though, thats my sport :D it's a good state of affairs to allow a real game to shine through when Limerick hurling is a shambles ;)

Declan Hannon, one of Limerick's finest :D *cough*

And yea, i know whatcha mean. Alot of underage talent alright but can it be transferred to senior intercounty level. You saw what happened with the u21s from a few years back.

And football is a failed hurler's sport ;)

If you look at the facts, how many teams compete for the Liam Mc Carthy cup compared to how many teams compete for the Sam and it is in the counties where football sucks except Dublin, Cork and Galway

Maybe because one is far harder and more skillful and the fastest game on land :)
The other is more meh :pac:

And unknown, football sucks in Kerry and Tyrone now
