In many of these posts people are asking how long is a piece of string, people need to know how much you are drinking/eating. Its best to learn how to count/calculate them yourself.

just had a quick browse through the different threads here... I have to say.. thanks a million! the tips I have picked up in the last few minutes are great!!!

Started WW a few weeks back and was doing really well... had lost 10.5lbs... then last night DISASTER!!! up 2lbs! So I am really goin to give it hell for leather this week...

I'm wondering if anyone could tell me the difference between eating 2 slices of the mccambridges bread and 2 slices of normal brown slice pan... Is there much of a difference if any??? I'm definitely going to invest in one of those calculators next week!

actually i googled the images not the nutritional information.

it says it on the side of the carton too.

to be honest i'm not pushed what the point value of the milk, it's just important to be drinking it.

    this is my daily routine:
    breakfast - porridge with water
lunch - apple, banana and ww yogurt
two ryvita and ww cheese slice

    dinner - ww meal
    2 ww buscuits
    hiya
firstly well done on losing 2stone! that is amazing!!!! As you get smaller, the weight is harder to lose!
your food intake could be a little bit better. Instead of fruit, yogurt and ryvita, why not bring in some home made soup, or a sandwich with fruit or a big salad and dinner, instead of using a WW meal, which is still processed food, why not try making something yourself. you will be eating a LOT better eating home made and it might give you the kick to lose the last few lbs

    Hey
Im new to weight watchers (first weigh in tomorrow - fingers crossed :) ) and new to boards too but i was hoping could someone help me with something?

Been really good this past week and tonight had 9.5 points to spare and had been exercising today so opted for chinese for dinner. Had a standard tray of singapore chow mein which was delicious and was quoted all over the internet as being 7.5 points... but while eating it i found it to be greasy in a tasty but this cant be only 7.5 points way... has anyone ever had a non greasy one and was it my chinese? or is it really only 7.5 per standard tray?

thanks for any reply if you can :)

Hi & welcome to Boards. I can only think in the UK they were getting those small trays of it, even then it seemed low enough to me. I estimated one earlier in this thread.

I got a singapore chow mein last week, weighed 800g.
    Using this calculator http://points.ogo.ms/
I hit 5.5 points at 370kcal presuming zero fat (and it was fairly greasy)
That means if this was true then it was 46.25kcal per 100g. I would estimate it at 250kcal per 100g though, this is comparing it to supermaret ready meals and the fact that the noodles are much denser, i.e. not boiled to death where they take up lots of water. A single pack of 80-100g dry supernoodles can be 550-600kcal. I would also conservatively estimate 5% fat since it was fried noodles & meat and quite oily, so 40g of fat, and 20g goes in my calculator. So using the same calculator I would estimate 33.5points. I ate this in 2 sittings. As I keep saying the portions are massive, so do not go fooling yourself. I know a girl who does order this from the same place as she thinks it is the "best choice" because WW say so. There are far better options to chose, much smaller portions, or just split it.
I have weighed other chinese dishes, chicken dishes & rice and they all average around 850g, which is about twice the size of ready meals, or almost 3 times the size of some WW ready meals, and many WW & ready meals tend to be diluted down more with water than takeaways.

I saw you posted in the other WW thread too, please just post in one thread from now on as it makes it easier to see responses and there is no doubling up of replies.

You can check out the points here.

I love it with loads of roasted vegetables mixed in with sesame oil. You can cook it with some stock to give it a nice flavour too.

I think if there's no value for the saturated fat you take half the total fat.
