"Phat" PS3 error 8001050F thread

Ok... since i've been away it seems to be established that this is an internal clock issue and all should be fine when the date changes... not a huge issue really!

Would of liked to of completed Darksiders tonight but I'm sure it'll be there tomorrow to complete.

Did this problem not happen to people before 12 last night? Going by the net? Why on earth would it have done that?

Just read this update (link in the post above) on the eu site. It looks like we will be waiting for either a date change or else it will be a massive firmware updated:

We hope to resolve this problem within the next 24 hours. In the meantime, if you have a model other than the new slim PS3, we advise that you do not use your PS3 system, as doing so may result in errors in some functionality, such as recording obtained trophies, and not being able to restore certain data.

time to blow the dust off my ps2 and see if i can source an old school scart cable lol Im so grateful that i got all my trophy synching done yesterday, th thoughts of losing my saw platinum would be too much to bear!

So Sony's fix is, lets wait till tomorrow lads and lets just pray that it fixes itself...

But happens if there is no tomorrow? According to my PS3 there was no tomorrow today

Just a heads up,Sony say you shouldn't turn on your Phat until the problem has been resolved.

As far as i know, the trophies you had before you synced last will be ok.

Syncing involved clicking on your online profile from your friends list, right? I don't know about anyone else but that is something I have only done once since I got my PS3 and that was only because after the last FW launch, I wanted to colour my profile.

You have no reason to worry if your trophies were showing up at X% yesterday. You should only have to worry about any trophies earned today. If your trophies were synced with the server than all you have to do is load up the game or compare trophies with a friend tomorrow and it'll be fixed. I know this because I recently got a Slim to replace a broken 60GB. Quite a few games were showing up as 0% trophies, but once the game was loaded up or I compared my trophies they went back to normal.

I repeat, your trophies from yesterday and before that will be fine.

Likewise, your saves will be fine unless you load up the game today. It's highly unlikely but loading up a game today could corrupt it. They won't magically get corrupted because of a system clock issue if you don't load them. I highly doubt they would get corrupted but it's better to be safe than sorry.
