Does White Knight Chronicles have trophies?

Does White Knight Chronicles have trophies?

Yes every new game has trophies. Only games from before Sony introduced trophies don't have them.

Nothing but this does appear to be a network issue caused by trophy's and the DNS server that handles them. Apparently, anyway. Right now, you have good reason not to bother. Sure you can't even play any games!

I can't see it being a network issue, I haven't connected my PS3 to the internet in a couple weeks at least. I've been reading other places that the trophy's/game need to check a timestamp(?) but the date's fcuked up so it just terminates the game.

I think we can rule out it being a network issue.

So many sites have reported their debug consoles (some of which haven't been online in quite a while) are suffering the problem.

the glitch is most likely present in an earlier firmware that the phat models would have had installed at some stage or maybe its been there since the original firmware. the slim models obviously would have a newer firmware loaded when they are built so probably never picked up the dodgy code.

Sony saying sweet **** all about this apart from a ****ty message on Twitter is outrageous.

People think its the equation for deciding a leap year must have been off. Slims are fine cause they use a different chipset. Most phat chipsets are CECHK while people who have CECHL seem to be able to play.

Sony changed the hardware revisions 3 times on the PS3 so far. There was 1 for the 20/60Gb series, another for the 40/80Gb series when the backwards ability was removed and again for the Slims.

Its the chipsets in the older series that are effected. Its a problem in the date system in the BIOS like what a PC has. At a guess it must need to sync to PSN to correct itself now and again, for leap years, leap seconds etc.

So there must be a problem which hit the PSN aswell and now the older PS3 chipsets cannot correct themselves. The newer chipsets are fine as they have the updates BIOS installed.

This is what seems to be going on. With a bit of guess work on my part.

Looks like it's even more serious than first thought - clicky.

"Citing unnamed "developers and studios", British site Develop say that the issue is affecting titles currently in production for the PlayStation 3, with debug consoles - used by developers to actually make games - thrown "into a rebooting cycle, due to an endlessly-looping error message."

Been nine hours now without Sony saying anything.

Gamestop cover a the console for a year, right? My girlfriend's one is still less than a year old and is now, for the forseeable future, unusable for her games.

Does anyone know if they are obliged to give us the money back (to put towards a slim model)?

If Sony can't fix it I'm getting a brand new Slim with BC out of sony!!:D

It's Ok, they have till the release of GOW3 to get this fixed.:D

By then Heavy Rain should be fixed too.

It's a network issue simple as that...? They're taking their time resolving it I agree but they'll sort it..

Nope its a hardware issue in the older PS3 themselves. Only a firmware flash can fix it and if not, its Slim time. The PSN needs a fix on the server side too from the looks of it but that alone won't fix everything, it has to be both form the looks of it.

How is it a network issue? You don't need an internet connection to play Heavy Rain etc...

Jesus, warranty or not Sony would be liable if this couldn't be rectified by software means.

I have it! Its a cunning, if expensive, ploy to get us all to ditch our Phats and pick up Slims because the i-Phone hacker can only hack phats!

Trophies are published to the user's PSN ID ('sync with server', etc). It's weird that it should effect an offline-only game, but it is in part network related. The system clock/fake leap year bug would seem to make it a more complicated fix than something somewhere being rebooted (like the MW2 launch when the 'presence server' caused PSN problems, was fixed in hours).

I'll be officially very worried about this when it's not the day after 28 Feb. Don't wanna lose/replace my launch 60Gb.

If this really is caused by a system clock issue, it'll be fixed by tomorrow, when the PS3 no longer thinks it's an impossible date (29/2/2010). No firmware or hardware fix required. The exact same thing has happened before (like as Kotaku pointed out, with the Zune player). All that you had to do was wait one day for it to fix itself.

Should be fun playing MAG later with hardly anyone on! :pac:

If that was the case, wouldn't manually setting the correct date and time with the PS3 kept off line have it back up and running with PS3 games again. The PS3 would know no different so long as you don't try to long on to PSN until tomorrow.
