Coming into the office after a loooooong run and then getting cramps on the bike, there was the big box of sweet, lovely, huge scones. They were staring at me! They were laughing at me!! And me, entirely depleted of glycogen was standing there, starving.

How I managed to avert my eyes and resist I don't know, but I proclaimed loudly that after that f***ing lent is over I'll eat every single f***ing scone in that f***ing box the next time they're delivered.

    Still going, though!

Great commitment there TFB but are they just plain scones? Are they sugar coated or something or why are they out? I wouldn't have pastries or anything with chocolate but scones are ok in my book :o. Have I crossed the line?

Yep - I'd class them as bread as opposed to cake . Its in the eye of the beholder though - is it art or is it.......:D

Nope in my books they have never classed as cake so once we never go to an art exhibition together RedB we can live in harmony with our opposing views...

    P.S - Coffee and scone with blackcurrant jam....................tasty! :P

Hey, I'm with you all the way on this one, its TFB that has 'em classed as Devil Cakes :D

p.s. hope there's no butter on those scones and you're not watching Home+Away at the same time !

Just had 2 scones with butter and strawberry jam myself with tea. Yum. Not every day but they are not chocolate or biscuits so no guilt. Out of all the days so far (today is day 9 folks) this morning was really hard. Mad week at work and I've been killing the temptation with cornflakes and/or crackers and jam (jam is my new sugar craving saver)

This morning my car packed it in on one of the busiest roads in Limerick... que a frantic jog to work and 2 mental meetings I had my breakfast at 12pm after being up since 6 for a run (sh!t luck and hunger). If ever I wanted a quick chocolate fix it was 30 mins ago... I had the change in my hand and I stood in front of the vending machine

Still pledge is intact... just about

Still going strong here, although I could be ruled out on a technicality.

Am off processed bread and chocolate/biscuits. However, dinner the other night was a pie that had some (not many) breadcrumbs sprinkled across the top. I thought twice about it, but the spirit of it for me is to avoid baguettes and sandwiches. (Am loving my daily couscous salad and pasta salad lunches!)

Am out for an Indian tonight. Am debating with myself whether having Naan Bread counts as processed bread.

Naan bread? Processed? Definitely not! Im sure there is someone in the back at the restaurant beating fresh wheat and grinding it down to make the flour to make the bread, whilst someone else is picking the freshly grown coriander and other herbs to accompany your oh so fresh, so not processed Naan.

Sorry must have had an extra portion of sarcasm for lunch! Couldnt resist!

It's totally up to you where the line is, but do you realise how much sugar there is in those things? (I know, but only because I've seen the missus bake them numerous times). To me they definitely fall on the cake side of things rather than bread, and are out for the time being.

Had to resist them again today. In a meeting that lasted for 4 hours. :(

Right, I have crossed out my name because giving up Chilli nachos is like just giving up one type of chocolate bar and is unfair to those making real sacrifices, keep it up folks I'm off for a BB's choc chip muffin and a latte.

Wedding today. OK I choose the Vol au vent instead of the melon, ate to much bread with the soup(i luv bread) but neglected the desert, and afters hot food with the wedding cake. Not a great day cals wise but its 10 days down. I was glad I didnt have desert after 5 minutes as it wouldnt last 1 minute.

    3,2,1 ... I AM OUT.

Friend made me a smoothie in work the other day and put some peanut butter in. I found out halfway through drinking it. In fact completely forgot this until i put a spoon of peanut butter into my porridge out of habit this morning. DAMN!

Well, I am still gonna cut back on it anywho. Haven't had an ounce of dark choc or a flapjack though and sticking to my coffee limits. Body is going through some withdrawals from it but hopefully ill feel much better in a few days.

EDIT: I am now going to do nothing else but talk about scones on this thread. If im out im gonna bring a few ****ers down with me. Get ready for the scone talk.

Today was hard. golf outing and the goodie bags going out had bars of chocolate in them. Managed to resist despite being half starved. Back in the clubhouse for a sandwich and they put a nice little pile of Pringles on the plate. Somehow managed to resist.
