I nearly crumbled today. Was stood at the vending machine, feeling like I could do with a nice bottle of coke zero as a pick me up, thinking, feck it sure it's only the internet they don't care if I cave...alas, I was strong and opted for a nice bottle of deep river rock instead. Going strong. :D

Came home after a shi*e run. Didnt have dinner ready. 3 bagels and 5 slices of bread later. I didnt have any sweets, biccies and choccies. Starting to treat the bagel like a scone now. 6 days is a long time. Even feel lighter.

Almost a week with no chocolate or sweets... Resist, I must resist! Was at a 40th birthday party on Saturday night and there was a goody bag at each seat with Big time bars, dib dabs, flying saucers, refreshers, mint crisp bars, curly wurlys, cola bottles... all those good healthy 80's sweets, and I didn't eat one! Brought the bag home with me and stashing it till Easter sunday.;)

I didn't really have cravings, but for the first 2 or 3 evenings I nearly got up and went to the sweets cabinet, purely out of habit. Past that now, and yes, I do think it's getting easier.

The one thing that keeps tempting me are those delicious looking scones they are selling here at work. Still holding out though, and still 3 pounds lighter than a few days ago.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,208 ✭✭✭shotgunmcos

If ever I need to give in to the craving its now... HELL of a day at work. 11 hours put down, had to have porridge and a bunch of grapes a couple of hours ago to keep going. Now off home for a 90min easy run... if I get through this day without eating that crunchie in the fridge I'm doing well..

Almost 1 week down..... 39 days to go :( I'm fed up I want chocolate!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,793 ✭✭✭Macanri

If you go on about that crunchy anymore, I'll go round and eat it myself:P. Throw the feckin thing in the bin or give it to someone. Out of sight out of mind!

This was a factor, I'll admit. Went to the stores this evening, to get a nice bottle for Saturday, ended up buying about seven or eight- and just had to try one!

    Now open a bag of crips, g'wan, g'wan, g'wan...;)

Pretty cack i think. Depends on the volume of training though. nothing but wheat flour, butter and sugar.

I'm not one to talk though - iv pretty much gone through a loaf of banana bread from the market since yesterday to drown my peanut butter lent withdrawal!

do you not think it's too easy if you're allowed sub chocolate for cakes? Personally it's all or nothing (which might explain why I folded so early!).

I haven't had one of those in ages, until I discovered Aldi's ones at the weekend. Damn they are delish! And now only two left in the pack
I wouldn't mind but I'm not usually sweet toothed :o

I'm still missing my tayto, and salt! Saturday is going to be one hell of a challenge. Going to the pub to watch the Rugby with my OH, where there will be tayto calling me, especially after a few bottles of Heiniken, and then it will be chipper chips for dinner. Chipper chips minus salt = wrong, wrong, wrong.

I haven't had one of those in ages, until I discovered Aldi's ones at the weekend. Damn they are delish! And now only two left in the pack

I'm still missing my tayto, and salt! Saturday is going to be one hell of a challenge. They salt them even before they give them over to you so Im not so sure that you will be able get chipper chips that dont violate your Lenten pledge......

    here's a tip for you.

If your getting chips in the chipper to bring home, dont let them put salt on them as it cools them down.
