I won't be at the Manchester show (Have two stag partys in Aug.) and in Vegas the fighters are all over the place (the expo did help to meet a lot of them)

Will this expo be a regular thing, do you think they would have one in Dublin and the upcoming events?

Not sure, I think it will only be for the "big" events. But at UFC 95 and UFC 99 they had an autograph section with 3 fighters. UFC 95 had Wanderlei Silva, Quinton ''Rampage'' Jackson & Paul Taylor and at UFC 99 had Mike Bisping, Martin Kampmann & Amir Sadollah. I think something like this will be done for the next Irish UFC event.

I don't think Dublin is really a hotspot for millionaires.

Other than some semi-decent live venues for music, pubs and clubs for drinking in, and only a couple of 5 star restaurants there isn't much else.

    There are no massive casinos.
No massive hotels that do all the shows and rubbish Vegaz does.
No massive nite clubs with super exclusive zones.
    No Opera house.
    No broad way.

What's Dana White and Rich Franklin going to do when they're bored? Go to the Zoo? Take an open bus tour? Take a trip to Kilmainham Gaol? Go to a Gaa match?

These guys obviously come to Dublin looking for stuff they have in the major cities of the US.
" No Opera house. " Well I'd very much doubt that a MMA fan would be into Opera ?? Anyway, ever hear of the National Concert Hall.

Why don't they just restrict drink to the bars and other relevent areas, have no drink allowed in the seated areas. Problem solved.
    .

I'd go to this but these stories of lager louts has turned me off. No thanks.
It'd be deadly if this was shown on Setanta Ireland :)

Its a loophole, officially UFC (so i assume all mma) is seen as "entertainment" where as Boxing is seen as Sport, alcohol is not allowed indoors at sport events so its a legal issue rather than a choice issue..

Strange i know but thats the way it is.

Hang on. MMA/UFC is bungled into the same category as WWF ?

Filing your event as entertainment may be advantageous for a tax or regulatory reasons.

Would there not be more tax breaks on sport ?
Regulatory maybe I suppose. I don't know what the Irish or UK equivalent of "athletic commision" is but I assume boxing fights and martial arts (Judo , Karate etc.) tournaments need some kind of sanctioning and approving.

I remember back in 1998 I read an article in the Irish Indo about the UFC. It was the first time I'd ever read anything about it but I was very itnerested from Ken Shamrock. The article read like a list of debachery only ever seen in a De Sade novel!

There was drunken fights all over the place, half naked women, half naked women getting groped, violent fist fights to the bitter end etc. etc. !

Im sure the indo where not just jumping on the obvious bandwagon!
i bet they did not even have a reporter at the event, also the UFC, MMA has come on along way since 1998, it was only a starting sport then.

Rush Boxing club and Rush Martial Arts head coach.

MMA and Boxing are the only sports that have to be sanctioned by the government in america

You must hate Hardy, spending 400 squid alone for the flights to see him getting a beating :)

400 squid eh? feck, i might have to go there myself! What kind of package are you looking at? tickets, accomodation etc..

Well my brother lives over there so stay with him if i go, not sure about tickets yet.. Could just go for the cheap seats to keep the price low... Actually like Hardy, but still think he's out of his depth against GSP
