Why don't they just restrict drink to the bars and other relevent areas, have no drink allowed in the seated areas. Problem solved.

Sadly the people in charge of such places dont seem to be able to grasp such simple solutions. It was the one thing that pissed me off big time at UFC 93, constantly having to stand up to allow a never ending stream of people out to the bar and then stand back up to allow them back in  Luckily the guys behind me weren't drinking so no spillage.

Of course they can grasp such a simple solution, but by doing so they would be making less money

They didn't allow you to bring drink into the seating area for the Bernard Dunne world title fight.

I actually think this is a great idea. I may have been really sheltered but I had no real hassle at the last UFC in Dublin. Sure I saw drunk people but nobody aggresive and nobody spilled pints on me or anything. I'll actually be pissed off if you can't bring beer into the arena. I know it can be a pain in the arse if ppl are constantly making everyone stand up to go get beer. But my mate and I took turns going to get beers and we bought two each at a time.

And because of the TV breaks we didn't miss any fights and it was great to sit back with a few beers and watch the action. There will be even more breaks if this is a UFN with ad breaks so plenty of time to get beer and not miss anything.

Its a loophole, officially UFC (so i assume all mma) is seen as "entertainment" where as Boxing is seen as Sport, alcohol is not allowed indoors at sport events so its a legal issue rather than a choice issue..

Strange i know but thats the way it is.

Thats the one thing that really annoyed me about UFC 93. People constantly going for drinks and, as a result, constantly going to the toilet. I mean fair enough have a few drinks in between fights if ye need to but in the middle of fights having to constantly stand up to let people out was really annoying. And the people having the drinks are always seated in the middle!!!
And people behind spilling drink down your back as they go past, and the floor was a wash with beer, couldn't leave anything on the floor!! ... [/rant]

Apart from that it was a good event and a great weekend coupled with the weighins. I hope they restrict drinking to the bar next time but I doubt they will.

Sorry But I only a recent UFC fan & wondering was the last one on TV?? I presume no major fights?? the event in Ireland wouldn't be a big deal in America would it??

UFC 93 was live on PPV around the world. I would consider Dan Henderson v Rich Franklin a big fight

We actually got a really good card. I believe it did really good PPV wise in the states too (it was on setanta here).....

Main event was a major fight. It determined the coach of the ultimate fighter series.
Also the return of Mark Coleman (UFC Hall of famer) vs a return (of sorts) of Shogun.
It was a great card overall.

Hope the Paddys day UFC is as good a card.

I think it will be on the Sat before or the Sat. after Paddy's day. I can't see it being on a Wednesday night.

It isnt Las Vegas in fairness.

Dana White does, he said to me that Vegas is a bit like Dublin, you can drink but you also have s**t to do in Vegas. But he did say that we have some of the best fans in the world. He also said this at the UFC 99 Q&A plus he said it at the UFC 100 Q&A (at the expo) and he siad it at the VIP expo one on one with Dana White, he even told me the same thing at the IUFC 100 pre party at the Mandalay Bay Beach, he was so pissed (as was I) Davis was also at the beach party and he told me he wants Hardy in Dublin, he does not care about any other fights untill he KO's Dan Hardy.

I don't think Dublin is really a hotspot for millionaires.

Other than some semi-decent live venues for music, pubs and clubs for drinking in, and only a couple of 5 star restaurants there isn't much else.

    There are no massive casinos.
No massive hotels that do all the shows and rubbish Vegaz does.
No massive nite clubs with super exclusive zones.
    No Opera house.
    No broad way.

What's Dana White and Rich Franklin going to do when they're bored? Go to the Zoo? Take an open bus tour? Take a trip to Kilmainham Gaol? Go to a Gaa match?

These guys obviously come to Dublin looking for stuff they have in the major cities of the US.

Thats why I said idiot uncultured Americans.

What do they want? Its a business, they come do a show and go, could ya imagine the Real Madrid players saying they find Dublin 'boring'? LMAO. Different cultures I guess.

And Las Vegas would be far down my list of places I would want to go, what a joke it looks. see to them nightlife is what makes a place interesting and as has been said exclusive bars so they can fufill their massive egos.

Well it's same reason people say it's hard to get the top class professional footballers to play and live in Sunderland. It's rainy, dull and there's nothing to do except go on the pish. So why would you leave in Sunderland when you could potentially live in London, Madrid, Paris etc.

Agreed. I think the UFC crew will be in Ireland for the Wed. (Paddy's day) but wont have the event till the Sat. after Paddy's day.

I was talking to Dana White at UFC 100 and he said they would be back for Paddy's weekend. Davis told me he wants a rematch with Hardy in Dublin.

Talking with Dana and Davis, then hanging out with Dana and then going to the event, you make me sick Woody:D:P

I won't be at the Manchester show (Have two stag partys in Aug.) and in Vegas the fighters are all over the place (the expo did help to meet a lot of them)
