Oh LeixlipRed, don't be such a Scrooge, surely the depression of having to do repeats is repayment enough for Michellenman?

Why has our Facebook group failed so?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,195 ✭✭✭✭Michellenman

It was destined to fail. Anything to do on it can be done here...

I know who hardly any of the faces are behind the names, I don't want to either. Just looked through them and went 'grand normal bunch of people there, that'll do. We're not a pack of weirdos' and moved on. Very attractive group we are.

There is a group called 'TELL GARY GLITTER TO F<CK OFF' that has 55,000 members...and we manage 15.

You've to take in to account the number of people in Maynooth. Narrow it down to those who post on Boards. Take away those who don't post in here. Some of whom don't have a facebook account and others who are anonymous...

15 is about right I'd say.

But yes. We are an attractive group :P

Attractive group? We're mario, one of the Golden Girls and a perfectly square piece of dirt!

We are the geeky secret society (on second thoughts thats probably that society that play World of Warcraft, forget its name)

on the subject of geeky, i made the great leap today:

Yeah but to be fair she's the most attractive of the golden girls.

Also, I don't have avatars set to display so you're all just usernames to me. :p

Yeah, bleeding edge technology with no support for any of Firefox's thousands of plugins!

I wish they'd hurry up and bring it out for Mac. I've been downgraded to Safari on occasions when firefox is slow!

The latest Firefox has a private browsing mode.

It also doesn't let you write Firefox in all lower casing either.

    Ha!

Ok, Firefox is better than Chrome if you're used to all the plugins. There's no compeptition there. However, in my experience, Chrome:

    1. Is increedibly fast. From page loading times to how fast the printing dialog box opens, Chrome does everything just that little bit faster.
    2. Is incredibly light
    3. Has a task manager for when one tab crashes. This means that when you have, say, 5 tabs open, if one of them crashes that it doesn't affect your whole browser, just that one tab.

Do this for fun: slect both the Firefox and Chrome icons on the desktop and hit ENTER. See which one opens way faster :D

Ha! I actually agree with you. I never got into all those plugins and stuff, they just clog up the screen and slow the whole show down. Chrome is super fast, no messing just does the job.

I've been getting involved in the SU this summer.

A vastly, vastly reformed and improved college magazine shall be upon us.

Also, Chrome will be available as an option on all college computers. (Wait until you see how much faster printing is - no more of this 37pp pdf taking 20 minutes to print)

But one of my problems with Chrome is that it's an even bigger RAM hog then Firefox, most of those pcs don't seem to have the extra RAM to handle Chrome.

Maybe it will be better at handling PDFs as it's supposed to be good at handling apps.

Honestly though if I'm using a Pc in Maynooth I don't really care what browser I use, when I'm at home though it's Firefox.
