Received an email today from Pigsback regarding the Pigsback/Mbna credit card as of 1st of April you will get 1 piggy point for every €2 spent. 1 for 1 at present.

Will definitely be looking to leave them for a better deal now. Never liked the look of the pig or the big pigsback.com on the credit card anyway! Talk about shooting themselves in the foot. They're now giving the same points deal as Tesco but Tesco would work out better value when you factor in their club deals and the fact you can spend your points on anything in their supermarket. Also, if you spend your Tesco points on shopping and your own cash on phone credit, you save yourself pigsback surcharge for buying phone credit! Assuming you already shop at Tesco, which I do at least half the time.

Tesco Credit Card is OK you get 3 points for every €2 spent in Tesco (also Tesco petrol) and 1 point for every €2 every where else: http://www.tesco.ie/finance/visacards/benefits_clubcards.html It does mount up, plus you can get better value for your vouchers now with Clubcard Deals: http://www.tesco.ie/clubcarddeals/default.htm?osadcampaign=LB6

Halifax probably has the best reward offer at the moment. They add €100 to your account after your first purchase :D : http://www.halifax.ie/index.jsp?p=100&n=104

The Tesco 3 for 2 is slightly misleading as you already get 1 for 1 with their clubcard. It's basically the same deal as pigsback are now offering but you have a lot more choice what to do with your points at Tesco and it can save you phone credit surcharges as I pointed out above.

The Halifax is a nice introductory offer but if they don't give you any points would work out worse than Tesco or pigsback. Unless you just open one to get the €100 and close it once it comes through though you have to put €1500 in your account for 3 consecutive months to get the €100.

Stupid, stupid move, pigsback. (Unless it's an April fool's joke, as that's when the change starts.)

I presume you mean if the €20topup counts as a normal topup and not a bonus/drip fed topup?

Then yes it does count. It wont be sent to your phone, the code will arrive in the 'collect rewards' section of your pigsback account.

Ok so I am alittle hazy on this whole pigsback thing, can someone please explain what this site actually is, I have seen things posted about "do this through pigsback" but not sure what it is, should I join?

Its free to join. Somethings they do stuff thats worth it.

PiggyPoints are the Pigsback.com currency. You'll earn these for doing all manner of things on site when you join. You can then use them to claim rewards like vouchers for shops, or phone credit etc.

well i have joined up now but to behonest it sounds like something i joined up before mutualpoints or something like that, you get points for doing stuff like surveys, joining sites they recommend, etc but you have to have like 10,000,000,00 points just to get a 10E voucher or something equivilant to currency,

So I am not sure how much i will use it, But who knows, I am registered now so I shall wait and see.

    Thanks Davy

I miss the cdwow vouchers. When they got rid of them I emailed and complained. They replied saying that they would have vouchers for some other cd/dvd company "soon". That was a long time ago....

I miss the phone zone where you could top up & earn points. The jobs section & sports section.

Not much opportunity to earn points as there was.

TBH Pigsback is a dead duck, their business model is failing and that's why you see the lack of opportunity to earn points.

Just realised how downhill it's gone. I usually got boots vouchers but they are no more. Have over 3000 points and nothing worth spending them on.

Me too, I always ahve at least 50 euro in my wallet of vouchers but back in the summer I was a bit peed off when they changed them from 2000 point to 2200 point for a 20 euro one and they have now changed the credit card from 1 point per euro to 2 euro per point. They have seriously go downhill!!!

The link is working. Are you logged in? Are you female? Sometimes that categorise male and female offers which you would specify in your registration.

Ha ha, you'd never know what goes on down here behind closed gates :D;).

Seriously though, I never copped that they send different e-mails based on orientation ... I just wanted my 400 piggy points ... would have gotten me my phone credit this time :(
