Saw a couple of old cars over the past few days:

This Aston Martin DB5 in Tallaght:

    Cadillac Eldorado in Firhouse:

And finally, this Dublin-reg. Daihatsu Charade in Rathfarnham. Not too many of these around anymore:

Now I'm sure I saw that same car today in Tallaght being driven into Broomhill Rd and was behind it when it turned round in Shires and was waiting to turn left into Airton Rd. It was definitely badged a DB6

Yeah, it's always on the Airton Road, usually parked beside a classic Mercedes 230SE (I think).

I always get mixed up between the DB5 and DB6. They all look quite similar anyway.

Yeah, what is the difference between them?

the DB6 has a sawn off tail. DB5 has the more stylish rear end like the DB4. Other than that I don't know.

An easy way to tell is by looking at the bumpers. DB5's had a full bumper while DB6's have only quarter bumpers front and rear.

Okay so maybe not a classic yet - but the Maserati Quattroporte I followed home yesterday might be one day!
(Not wise I know taking a picture while driving up the rear of a €150K + car )

You have probably been asked already, but what are you driving???? The dials look familiar.

Max_Damage is right! Was my old Fiat 124 Spider. 1972, 1600cc twin carb! I miss the drive but not the rust.
The next owner has it on sale again. Using my old pics too. ;)

    Here another of the dash.

.......known as Kamm tail, the rear side window is a different shape too, the DB5's sweeps back parallel to the roofline.

For me the earlier car is far nicer, though I wouldn't say no to either !!!

One of the probelm with old cars. My Old Man has a 1969 MGB, and the rust is dreadfull. He also has a 1962 Land Rover SWB, which I am trying to get my hands on.

nice beetle! has anyone seen the yellow Elan always parked in Rathmines? I spoke briefly to the owner last summer, he had just resprayed it (again ) and now I see some f**k has carved the side out of it AGAIN with a key or nail or something, and its missing a pas. window. I dont know how he does it, I'd be crying myself to sleep at night (sleeping in the Lotus with a shotgun of course)

I know this car, and always point it out to people. Not my choice of colour for this car, but I do not know how anyone could leave this car out in the street like that.

On holidays in France last week, the place I was staying had this lovely 1928 Citroen C6 Torpedo in their garage - the owner assured me it was still taken out for runs quite frequently.

Yes,thats a very clean car, must be one of the cleanest irish reg X19s around...i think they used to have a late model 205 gti there too at one stage.
***TPI would make it late 83.

Even though its only about 6 hours ago, i cant remember if the X 19 was parked next to a 205 or a 306 gti,

im sure it was red though...

I was walking by the Mercy Hospital in Cork last sunday and spotted a white Mercedes 250 Diesel with an 07 C 29xxx reg. The car was a w124 shape for those in the know i.e. finished production in 1995. I took a closer look and there was only 7,000 miles on the clock and the car was as pristine as any 1 year old car. Wonder where/why this was hanging about for the last 12 years???

I saw this very car yesterday and it is a Mercedes W124 RHD in white and was registered 07 C 29xxx. I wondered too where it had been for the previous 12 years?????

OK, so it's no classic (yet), and I'm not a BMW afficionado so I could well be talking through my jaxy, but I thought the attached 325LX was a "relatively" rare beast on these shores so I snapped a pic.

Yes, from the canton of Valais, but Swiss plates are difficult if not imposible to date, so unless there's a BMW expert who knows, I've no idea what age the car is, or whether it's an aftermarket badge etc.

I remember them as being a 4WD - I think that they sold more in the UK but not so much here. I've seen them before but can't remember if it was here or abroad

There was an E30 325ix alright (i think it was ix eventhou that looks like Lx) there's 1 or 2 in ireland at least

    EDIT: # 1986-1991 325iX - 2.5 L M20B25 I6, 170 hp (125 kW) I'm sure thats an E30 also. There was one at the Terenure classic car show (i think it's the owners 2nd one to).
