Just some light rain started here in the last half hour... drops mainly, the ground isn't wet yet or anything. Breezy and the sky has gotten very dark in the past while.

Sky turned an amazing colour for the sunset under some fairly grey looking clouds. Sorry I wasn't out with a camera.

it's not yet raining here, but it's very humid. I think I want a weather station.

Temperature currently 18.7, beautiful sunset, and not a drop of rain. Best day in a long time. Glad to see the rain is nowhere near us at the moment.

    Very wet down here.
Total for the day is now up to 14.7mm.

I met the rain at sandyford driving south on the M50 with the most amazing yellow sunset behind me in Dublin.
Very heavy rain then the whole way down and likewise for the last half hour.

Lightish rain with only the odd heavier burst only here since midnight and can see by the radar, you Wicklow lads got a dumping in the earlier hours.
Just had a heavy shower there it seems and has moved off smartly now.

More fun and game for later, only if you like water sports in your back yard.

    Overcast here.
I suspect the North West of the country may have below normal rainfall for the month of July. It seems to be the way if there is a series of deluges in the East and South East.

    Tipping down again.

Rain has stopped and the road seems to be drying up a bit. There's a hint of brightness trying to breach the clouds.

    Light rain here now.

The BBC weather rainfall chart indicates that we will get fairly heavy rain in the small hours.

Quite a heavy shower here 20mins ago, and looks like a pretty severe shower is breaking out just inside the Mayo/Roscommon border at the moment.

Edit: Gone pitch black here, but it is hard to tell if that shower is producing heavy rain or exceptionally thick light rain as visability is down to nothing in that direction.

Edit Edit: It's light thick rain:rolleyes: Bark worse that bite again, darkness due to lowering stratus that is almost down to tree level.
