There was thundery rain this morning at a 6 am but alas no thunder or Lightning overnight or this morning. The sky doesn't have that thundery look today and it feels fresher too. Current temperature is 19.8 c

Nasty thunderstorm in Trim, Co. Meath at the moment. A friend has said a neighbors house has just been hit  Can see the storms building from here in D8 - Wales is now very much alive!!!

Post that on the Thunderstorms discussion Highdef... give us all some new hope :)

A couple of showers this morning, cleared up nicely now - the wind in rather like a hairdryer on the slowest setting

    Mike.

Looking East (near the coast, Dublin 13), looks like a few distant CBs out to sea. Blowy but nice otherwise.

Edit: There are a lot more CBs then I thought. Band is approaching from the sound and there's a few mature CBs hovering over the Dublin mountains now.

Lashing rain, could see this shower develop as it was approaching.

Yeah clouds looking very dark towards your direction alright supercell. Don't think it will hit here, it seems to be confined to the mountains. Any one see the six one weather? John said something about another jet stream:eek:

Some big cbs poping up over that cloud too.

Just passed though, rain rate was up to 26mm/hr there for a few mins got a couple of mm from it, looks to be more coming too.

Looking south, CBs seem to be merging. Mountains hardly visible.

Any chance of something happening tonight?

What a refreshing night. Opened window and that lovely cooler air is coming in.

It's been awful muggy and having sleepless nights for the last week, a change from the 25c indoor temp at night and for one welcome these rain bands :)

Heavy rain has just commenced. 17.0c

Stopped as quickly as it started with just 0.9mm - the radar was looking far more ominous than that!

Overcast, windy and very light rain. Clouds are very thick and dark looking south west, could be a heavy burst soon.

eased and got heavy again here.
    It never stopped.
It is windy so it goes to a driving drizzle to light rain,to heavy to drizzle again.

    Horrible and like november.

    Total since midnight 9.7mm

Sunny, windy and drizzle all the same time. 19.8c (fohn effect I suspect). The day still needs to decide what it's going to do!

Cleared up here, now sunny bit of a breeze.

    Mike.

Feeling quite warm here now with a temp of 21c at the airport, just up the road and humidity into the 70's. Will give my own readings in a few mins. Plenty of sun now. The very low level cumlus (maybe it was stratus earlier) has now risen up a bit although still quite low. Uploading video from yesterdays anvils at the moment. Will have some timelapse video later. Was working all last night and went to bed a few hours ago but woke up after less than an hour and cant sleep so may as well be active.....maybe I'll get tired again soon!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,142 ✭✭✭highdef

just a little over 23c here now. The fast moving cumlus clouds are building nicely now. Just about enough to produce a shower now. Unfortunately I'm uploading video onto my PC at the moment so I can't record the skies!!!
