June 2008 had twice the average rainfall, mean temperature cooler than May..global warming having a "cooling" effect on what used to be called Summer in this part of the world.

Trend continues for July with daytime temps struggling to make mid-teens!

Rain has arrived in city centre - enough to wet ground but still light.

Lashing rain here for nearly 3hrs now with gusts of wind.
6.4mm so far with an average rain rate above 2mm/hr.

The radar implies that it is raining in Dublin now but it isn't. Although I haven't been out much it seems there was very little rain here this morning - the ground is wet in patches; again according to the radar it looked like more.

According to weatheronline there was only .3mm recorded at Dublin Airport and .4mm at Casement up to 13:00 today; we seem to have got off lightly. Temp now 18, DP 13.

0.8mm here and also 95mm for the month of June which is far less than the majority of the country saw, also with two dry months in April and May, June has made back a % but still well behind this time last year to date totals here. How some of you will disagree.:)

Heavens has just literally opened here out of the blue. Massive drops which are all the more strange as the sun continues to shine! Ireland, eh :D. Sky has a very convective look about it. No thunder to report though:mad:

Edit, just stopped as suddenly as it started.

We're just after a rather large downpour here (cork city), it's still raining but not as bad as a few minutes ago

Dry here, was clipped by a light passing shower around midday. I can see the wild stuff moving from the SW on the radar.

    edit: showers here now.

A few showers here today but nothing major at all. Total of 1.6mm so far.

It's cleared up now and noticeably cooler in the last hour or so, dropping from 19.2C around 17:30 to 14.0C now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,322 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

    Some pretty heavy showers here.

On the way home on the M50 after the Cherrywood exit going south the road was starting to flood, visibility was almost zero with the spray and heavy rain and cars on the northbound lane were splashing cars going south over the hedge dividing the two lanes!
I never drove to conditions as poor as that before, fun in a weather nut kinda way :D

Rain today was 13.0mm , showers seem to have tapered off last hour or so though.

Blinded by a combination of sun and rain coming home from work this evening between Limerick and NCW.

    Hate this country sometimes :(
