I tried all day and still haven't gotten anything.

    I think I might cry.

Every time I try and get tickets for Wednesday or Thursday (which are all that are available now according to the website), I get the horrible "We couldn't find tickets that matched your request" message.

if its any consolation to those still trying for tickets it looks like refunds or mistakes are still being processed. im looking at 2 seats in block a row cc right now that are available for friday night, albeit by the time i post this they'll have been sold. keep trying!

Got tickets for Wed and Fri as I've waited 20+ years for Tom to come back after I passed on his last gig here in the Olympia. I have to say that the system is a disaster (as usual for Ticketbastard) and I expect there will be chaos on the Wednesday at least....

Didnt manage to get tickets:mad: the anti-touting laws ****ed me up.

Was getting my dads partner to buy them online this morn at 9.00am, but because they were in her name they would be useless to me . So off i go to Ticketmaster at 1pm.

    All gone:(:(:(:(

Great to get my hands on a ticket. It is a shame that such lengths have to be taken to beat the touts. What happens if someone cannot go for genuine reasons?
I see my ticket says Type A-Stan.....does anyone know what that means?
Also, even though it gives a total there of €133,50 they charged my visa €137,60. All charges were not specified.

I remember saying to the kids earlier in the year that there was one artist that could come to Ireland and that tickets would be snapped up so fast an ordinary punter like myself would have no chance. They would notm blieve me when I said that artist was Tom Waits as they would be familiar with his music along with other artists. If the system of sale was the standard one, believe you me that only about 30% of us that got tickets would be happy campers this evening. For Springsteen's concert in the Odyssey last December, it was galling to see guys in England selling tickets for the event at extorinate prices within hours of the concert selling out in record time. So, well done overall with the new system.

Also, can anyone point me to any setlists for Tom Waits concerts?

Here's my way of touting anyway :pac:

    :D
got 2 tickets for friday nite block b row w
far as i can tell that 3 or 4 rows from the back, but i'm happy as a pig in...

as for the anti touting measures...
yes they are a bit exclusive, i know if i had'nt a credit card, i'd be screwed + if for some unforseen reason i cant make it, there'll be 2 empty seats in the house and two disgruntled people as far as i can see.

    >ticketmaster seem to have a ticket exchange program where you can trade surplus tickets, tried the links on their site which were dead. but may be an outlet if you find you cant attend, shame you cant pass them on to a friend or relative, but at least you know they'll go to someone who will actually attend the gig. [if that service does indeed run]

i think, given the extremely restrictive nature of the anti-tout precautions, that ticketmaster could be a bit more flexible, e.g. for people who dont have a credit card, they should be allowed to buy on a friends card, and be able to produce said card, as well as their friends driving liscense perhaps.

on the plus side its pretty safe to say that all tickets went to genuine fans at face value

face value imho is extortionate, but arnt we all well used to paying 50-500% above the odds in ireland

the only other time went to a gig in a tent was radiohead in 2000ish, fantastic gig, no complaints about the sound, [although i'm not sure how it'll suit tom]

final word of warning about buying on ticketmaster:
at 08:59:50 i began to press refresh on my browser [actuall on a command key on my keyboard] i held it down almost constantly and then got a message
that i was locked out of ticketmaster to prevent automated ticket purchases
and that i must wait several minutes before trying again.
thanks be to **** my dads computer was in the next room so i managed to get going by about 0903, only for that i was screwed! so beware and go easy on the refresh.

comiserations to all people who didnt get tickets, i've been chuffed all day and spent a solid 3 hrs listening to tom and getting excited today, but i'm aware that theres still deserving people dissapointed. [i'll sell you my tickets for €1000 !! (not!)]

to all the really lucky ones, i'll see you friday, block B!!

    Kudos to previous poster.

I got 2 tickets for friday. bought them with my folks credit card and then rang ticketmaster when i found out that the credit cardf owner had to claim the ticket. they changed the account to my name so all i got to do is show id at the door. fair play. the price i was pissed off with, but then again only 15 shows in europe might cost a lot to organise, i don't know how the costs are broken down, i'd have preferred to pay less. but only tom waits would i pay this much for.

    Looking fortward to it.

My only bitch is the reserved seating. 2 tickets per person means you could be sutting one place and your mates are all the way over in another part of the venue. that does suck.

Annoying. When they told me you couldn't transfer tickets, I believed it. I messed up my purchase (got tickets in the end), but if I'd have known, I might have been able to transfer to someone and got the tickets for the night I wanted.

Seems like the Marquee in Cork, which, as anyone who's been there will know
is a good venue, should be great for the lucky ones going :)

Maybe everyone who has posted here and is lucky enough to have a ticket should meet up on whichever night they are going....say in Ryans of Parkgate Street. I didnt realise so many ppl were so into Tom Waits.

I thought it was just me:D

Tickets for the Wheelchair Area are still available.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,859 ✭✭✭✭cormie

Hmmm, obviously there isn't enough wheelchair bound people interested, so should they not let others use the same space?

I doubt there are any seats in the Wheelchair Area, usually it's an elevated platform. And I'd say those spaces will fill up soon enough.
