dunno why ppl still queue for tix in this day and age. i mean a credit card only costs maybe €20 a year if you repay every month, and it sure beats standing in the rain. either way, i gots my friday ticket, block b row p which is good enough

Not sure traverse, probably best to ring ticketmaster and ask, might depend if it's Maestro? Would be a gamble though!

Row H, Block D for me. Dont really care where the seats are or what I can see. Important thing for me will be to hear!!!

my mate bought tickets for the thursday gig on his account with his credit card.

He then found tickets for the friday, and bought them on his account with my credit card (cause two tickets had already been bought on his) I'm not going. whose name will be on the firday tickets? account name or credit card?

He has a problem. The name on the account is used. This will be checked against the credit card - if they don't match, no entry.

I'm trying to confirm with them at the moment as it is my wife card I used - I will have to get a card issued in my name against the account for entry.

Harsh - but 'm glad they stopped touting for this.

I've succumbed even though it kills me to pay that amount to sit in a tent in the middle of nowhere.

    Ticketmaster says -
"On entry to the venue all patrons MUST present a valid I.D. (Passport or Driving Licence) matching the name on the ticket(s) in order to gain entry to the venue. Failure to provide matching valid I.D will result in you not gaining access to the event."

The name on the tickets is the account holders name so they can't make an issue of the credit card can they?

whats the story on id if you don't have a Passport or Driving Licence, do I have to fork out more money for these?

Had a look at the UK site, there are still plenty of tickets left for the Edinburgh gigs if anyone can't get an Irish ticket..are they still available over the phone? That guy Tauren has a problem, the credit card holder has to go...

Great, I'm pretty much bang in the middle 3rd row back :) Lets hope there's a group of mental midgets with IQ's of a fence post in front ;)

Oh just saw this bit 'Please ensure that the credit card used to purchase tickets belongs to the person who is attending the show.'

So which name is on the tickets - credit card or account?

Seems a bit crazy can't imagine being asked for my credit card and passport.
I'd say there will be chaos on the Wednesday a la Streisland.

They just released extra tickets on ticketmaster.ie for the irish gigs

Just chanced my arm again to see how far Id get and got offered nicer centre seats in the back stand..why do they do that?!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,330 ✭✭✭niallon

Seating chart is up, seems I'm dead centre but a fair bit back. Venue ain't exactly collossal though so it's all good!!!

This is so galling. I initially got seats for row 4, seats 33,34, but realised I wanted Friday, not Wednesday, so I went back. Totally ****ed up, and before I knew it, I was forced to get seats in Block D, seats around the 30s.

How big is the actual venue? How rubbish will it be if you're far back?

And where is it? If it's a tent, why are they calling it a cellar? Will it be just for this event, or for various gigs all summer?

Got my tickets - block B, row s

it is a tent, but its also underground, in a large cave under the Phoenix park.

just looking at the seating chart that was posted....

    72 x 39 = 2808
    105 x 52 = 5460
    39 x 11 = 429
    39 x 11 = 429

    = 9126 people per gig....

That seems like a lot for a tent ? Does anyone know what event venue is like ?

I last saw Tom in Paris in 2000 (Theater Grand Rex, paid 450francs a ticket (approx 50euro ish))

Got tickets for this one in Block D, row E....seat 17,18

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,080 ✭✭✭kenco

Thought I heard somewhere that it was only 3500 per night?

I think it will be chaotic on the first night. There will be long queues to get in no doubt and I think all the potential confusion around tickets and ids may be a nightmare.

Aitken Promos will need to get a hold on this fast as this is the first time I am aware of such a ticketing system being used.

    Think it's this instead kyote:

    39x11-429
    39x11-429
    29x72-2088
    105x27-2835

    =5781 give or take

    A-AA = a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,i,j,k,l,m,n,o,p,q,r,s,t,u,v,w,x,y,z,AA. x 105
    A-CC = a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,i,j,k,l,m,n,o,p,q,r,s,t,u,v,w,x,y,z,AA,BB,CC x 72

    I think..

Got 2 tickets @ around 10.30am for the Wednesday gig, BLOCKB, row T, seats 93-92. Can someone tell me if the following is OK:

    * I booked the tickets online using my girlfriend's credit card
    * I had to create a Ticketmaster account to complete the booking and used my First name in the required field for this
    * girlfriend & I will both be attending

Q - will there be any problem that the Ticketmaster account I registered has a different name to the credit card (my girlfriend's CC) ?

Why the heck is a marquee called "The Rat Cellar" - did they just throw this name on it to make it sound like an aptly seedy 'small' venue for a Waits gig?

    Hope you're right....

looks like the seating chart keeps changing...

    its now:

    - A-EE x 74 (Block A) (130x74) = 9620 () OR (31 x 74 = 2294)
    - A-M x 39 (Block D) (13x39) = 429
    - A-M x 39 (Block C) (13x39) = 429
    - A-Z x 105 (Block B) (26x105) = 2730

    I assumed A-EE is :
    A,B,C..X,Y,Z,AA,AB,AC...AZ,BA....BZ,CA...CZ,DA...DZ,EA...EE ~130 ()

It must the smaller number for Block A otherwise it will have over 10000 people per gig......
