Not true. I could restore but for some reason it would not jailbreak after upgrading to 1.1.2 again. Anyway that's all beside the point... i'm looking for the O2 Edge settings! :p

Finally got my phone sorted....just unlocked from:
    http://iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=655
Woohoo! So updated to 1.1.3, jailbroken and unlocked!

Have the same problem as below quote, but no biggie, just means I have to update all my contacts with +353 on the phone numbers....I can live with that!

Now lads, the only thing I need sorting to make this the best piece of kit ever is the Edge....

Has ANYONE got it working on Meteor, or is it just not possible. No worries if its not, just dont want to keep trying if it cant be done, PLEASE let me know !

    Cheers !

Just updated to 1.1.3 using iclarified soft jailbreak. Unfortunately installer is not working. I just click on it and it goes nowhere. Also having problem with the +353 things. How do I sort these?

i get to the part installing the soft jailbreak software, but it just goes back to my springboard, it says it takes 15 minutes, but should of it went back to the springboard, is it doing something?

all fixed, stupid installer with it's new "queue system" had stuff in the queue yet didn't know about because you can't see what's in the queue?

had to free up some space and reinstall the bsd subsystem.

it's soft updating now, and it's actually saying updating and jailbreaking not just pooping out to the springboard.

Hi, I have been trying the http://iphone.unlock.no/ method of unlocking the iphone (1.1.2 ootb) as the ZiPhone method was not working, GUI had problems detecting the Phone. But at the start when I expect iTunes to tell me that my phone is in recovery mode I get an error message from iTunes saying "The iPod software update server could not be contacted" and I don't get an option of a RESTORE button, I'm using iTunes to 7.6...anyone else experience this/have any suggestions. Thanks in advance!

personally I would advise anyone without a fully unlocked phone to follow this:

Download ziphone: http://files.filefront.com/ZiPhonezip/;9615637;/fileinfo.html (extracting folder to C;\)

Restore your phone to 1.1.3 on itunes -> Put phone in restore mode ->

Close ALL of itunes (with ctrl+del) ->

open command prompt -> cd c:\ziphone ->type ziphone (shows dir)

(from here you can see the options that you can do with 4.6 BL)

In cmd I typed these option

    c:\ziphone: ziphone -a -j -u
    Wait 2'30 mins

And within 3 minutes my phone turned itself off, was activated (-a) jailbroken (-j) and unlocked (-u) all to 1.1.3, personally i didnt mind having to reinstall apps and so on just took a few mins as I knew what i needed. Now a fully functioning 1.1.3 iPhone :) its well worth the update to 1.1.3 imo

Ok definitley the best option I restored my iPhone to 1.1.3 through itunes last night as iscrewed it up again. Ran this program literally about 10mins ago and my phone is working 100% unlocked on 1.1.3 seriously quick

One thing ive noticed though when i plug it into iPhoneBrowse it says iPhone is not jailbroken and wont show all the directorys on the phone. Ive no wifi in work so cant check to see if WinSCP works, will check when i go home.
Oh installer is on screen too just so people know.

if you use http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=655 do you still need to use the SIM adapter?

No, no need for sim adapter

It was so quick dismorning ithought that maybe most of the files where still on my phone from yesterday i.e. the jailbreak and unlock but I did a full restore to 1.1.3 within iTunes and then ran this program was unbelievably quick, threw my meteor Sim back in and heypresto it worked.

Phone # to name has to be sorted though but Im just waiting till i go home to SSH the appsupport fix over

    AGH success is shortlived...

When i connect to itunes and installed the syncfix from iclarified,
it just keeps going back to the homescreen ALL THE TIME.. think i might
have to start again from scratch...

Maybe ill just use 1.1.2 instead of this 1.1.3.

So im starting with a 1.1.2 oob in week 46
and might try a different unlock that the soft unlock from iclarified.
anyone got any advice / fancy helping out... based in dublin city center
When you went back to 1.1.1 did you do a restore or an update

    Install OK to Prep
Upgrade to 1.1.2 via itunes Upgrade NOT restore
Click on windows.bat from the 1.1.2 jailbreak download check install SSH & click jailbreak . It should hold the unlock if not goto installer & install anysim 112u

It won't hold the unlock updating to 1.1.2 writes a new baseband and anysim is not resistant to a baseband update.

hey i finally got up to 1.1.3 with soft jailbreak and now unlocked - although need a new sim as i'm weary having a sim in the iphone that has a badly cut edge in it - but in my SMS window i have numbers like +353 87xxxxxxx even though the number is in my contacts. if i dial the number i get the contacts name coming up.

    anyone know what's up?

also does anyone know of a way to get five icons in the dock with the extra one being the contacts app? you could do it with customise but that ain't working with 1.1.3 yet so i've heard

What Firmwhare are you starting with? & what boot loader?
    Are you in dublin?
I'll do it for you if you want

I'm upto 1.1.2(org 1.0.2) my bootloader is 3.9_M3S2 FW 04.02.13_G, :) thanks for the offer but happy to try myself got it to 1.1.2 with no issues. tried iclarifed installer but keep getting script errors, so gonna try devteam installer and just wanted to know if it better to remove all custom apps like summerboard etc first or does the upgrade do this anyway when it asks if you wanta restore device???

Remove everything you do not need for updating especially summerboard etc

My personal preference is to restore to 1.1.1 jailbreak run Oktoprep and update to 1.1.2 then jailbreak again and then do the devteam softupdate to 1.1.3 then update your baseband to 04.03.13 run anysim 1.3

It is longer but much cleaner and does not give you the problems that have been shown here by people doing the update with third party apps installed

Hey, I got my iphone from unlockthatiphone.com - its currently on 1.1.2 with a stealth sim. I was just wondering what is the best way to software unlock to 1.1.3? Bear in mind i'm a complete techno-dumbass so the easiest most foolproof method is what i need :p

Davkav, I have a 1.1.2OTB (bought in Jan in Apple store in Boston so prob 4.6BL), that I used Nate's upgrade to 1.1.3 on. It has a few glitches so would like to try your suggestion above.

Are you saying that in iTunes I can let it go ahead and upgrade the iphone then run ziphone on it, all in all taking about 10mins to have a clean unlocked jailbroken phone? And then I can remove the iphonesimfreer sim card thing?

Hey all, i'm in similar boat. I have a 112OTB Jailbroken and using a stealthsim. Works great. Wondering if I should bother upgrading to 113 and, if so, what steps to take? (i'm on a Mac btw)

At a guess there is some remnant of the soft update so installer thinks you have it already
