Here's something I have been wondering about.
I have an iPhone week 40. It can with 1.1.1 . I unlocked & jailbroke & have since upgraded to 1.1.2 & now 1.1.3 . Still unlocked & jailbroken ofcourse.
Bootloader 3.9. Now that there is an unlock for Bootloader 4.6 is there any benefit , or is it ven possible to upgrade the bootloader?

No you cant and no there would be no benefit the 3.9 bootloader will always be easier to unlock than the 4.6 in the future

No your phone is a 3.9BL if you update to 1.1.3 it will Jailbreak it for you

You would then have to run anysim1.3 from the installer to unlock

If you are on 1.0.2 you may have to virginize your baseband first before updating

what source did you use to JB to 1.1.3, I seem to be the only person that gets an script error when i try to run the iclarified soft 1.1.3 updater???

just used ziphne to unlock my 112otb iphone. worked fine. whats the best way to upgrade to 113firmware now after doing this?

Okay success.. i now have my meteor logo working and tested a few calls and messages..

Great to be able to finally use it as a phone instead of a heavy itouch.

A few questions though:

1) Ive installed the GeoHot fix but now for some reason my iTunes isnt recognising the iphone so i cant seem to sync or use the sync fix as described on iclarified.
-i think this might be because i downgraded from itunes 7.6 to 7.5 .. maybe i'll upgrade to 7.6 again and try connect again.

2) Locate me : spins forever

3) YouTube comes up with error: cannot connect to youtube

any ideas?

I used the Dev Team. All trough the installer.
I tried the soft upgrade prior to that & had nothing but trouble.
Reverted back to 1.1.1 ok to prep to 1.1.2 & dev team installer method to 1.1.3 Been grand since.
I stopped using Customize & Screen Shot
They were causing some probs

Neither work...cant install gizmodo or iphonebrowser....still cant get installer to work

That's worked, but iTunes updated it to 1.1.3, now its asking me to acivate the iPhone.

Ahh....this is wrecking my head, goin to leave it to the pro's in future

Any ideas on what to do next? Anyone know of any tutorials I can follow?

cool, did you uninstall all your custom apps first?

when prompted did you restore your device ( i assume you can get sms and contacts back when you sync with itunes after update has complete)

just confirm after the update to 1.1.3 my phone should be unlocked, no need for anysim??

Hello,

I've been thinking about buying an iPhone for a while but didn't bother because of the whole cant unlock thing, i was told i could use an extra sim to do it but i didn't really have the cash at the time anyways.

I went on ebay this evening and seen a guy in Dublin selling a 16GB for 585 but he wanted 68euro shipping and wont let me collect.

Anyway, after reading the last few pages, i seen someone mention a site called www.iphonesimsolutions.com, i contacted them today and they said they have them in stock for same day dispatch, i just wanna know has anyone else heard of or dealt with them?

They are charging 599 for the phone so the price is ok with me but i dont wanna get screwed over.

AGH success is shortlived...

When i connect to itunes and installed the syncfix from iclarified,
it just keeps going back to the homescreen ALL THE TIME.. think i might
have to start again from scratch...

Maybe ill just use 1.1.2 instead of this 1.1.3.

So im starting with a 1.1.2 oob in week 46
and might try a different unlock that the soft unlock from iclarified.
anyone got any advice / fancy helping out... based in dublin city center

Hi all,

I'm running a 1.1.1 3.9BL iPhone and want to update to 1.1.2 (not ready for 1.1.3 yet, there seems to be a lot of teething problems).

Can someone tell me if I install Oktoprep and update to 1.1.2 via iTunes and then jailbreak, will my bootloader stay at 3.9? Also, will I need to run AnySIM again to unlock it or will it remain unlocked?

Install OK to Prep
Upgrade to 1.1.2 via itunes Upgrade NOT restore
Click on windows.bat from the 1.1.2 jailbreak download check install SSH & click jailbreak . It should hold the unlock if not goto installer & install anysim 112u

strange the sysnc fix didnt work. I had exactly the same prob and it sorted it right out.

with regards SSH it just wont install from installer.

I think it might have something to do with BSD Subsys not installed correctly??

Had other things to do today so having another go at it now, tis fairly annoying.

One question ive been trying to find an answer to all over the net, does anyone know what directory the temp files for the iClarified upgrade are stored in. theres approx 180mb taken up and i just cant find them anywhere.

Just updated to 1.1.3 using iclarified soft jailbreak. Unfortunately installer is not working. I just click on it and it goes nowhere. Also having problem with the +353 things. How do I sort these?

i had the same problem with my installer. I think it was because i had 3rd party apps installed whilst on 1.1.2 and then i upgraded to 1.1.3.

to sort it i had to go back to 1.1.1 and work all the way back up to 1.1.3 and only installing the essentials along the way i.e.: oktoprep and bsd subsys

if you want i can take my installer off my 1.1.3 and you can try using iPhoneBrowser to put it on to yours???

P.S. i bricked my phone a few weeks ago doing the DEV 1.1.3 update but today it's alive again after using the ZGUiPhone method!

My 1.1.2 is now a fully functioning 1.1.3! wooo!!
