Ok i going to stand down cause i no F all about this stuff lol.

Don't mean to be mean, but I don't think unlockthatiphone.com are too familiar with consumer law either. ;)

See with the iphone that we sell if someone goes wrong we dont send them to apple Stephen Fixes them himself so we supply our own warranty as such.I am not in charge of that side anyway as you can tell lol.

Which is a perfectly legal offer. However, under Irish consumer law, the consumer may, instead of a repair, demand a replacement or refund.

I'm sorry for going off topic a little here lads, but I think it's important to know our legal rights and responsibilities, especially when it comes to consumer law.

With regards to Iphones, unless we bought them personally, in a shop, with proof of purchase (in whichever form that may come), we are pretty much screwed. eBayers can forget it.

I had a Discussion with this with Stephen, If the iphone becomes unrepairable faulty(without user damage which has tried to be done before) they it will be repaired everything can be replaced in the iphone well almost everything. If the baseband is screwed them goodbye iphone, Thats what some ipod hifi do etc its the magnetic that screws the baseband, Needless to say i wont try my iphone in my ipod hifi.

I'm off to the US in a couple of weeks, I think I'll pick up an iPhone for myself (delayed Birthday present), any tips on where to buy and how much to pay? I know they are $399 but that is dependant on getting a contract as well (or is it?)

Well in a couple of week 1.1.3 phone should be after taking over 1.1.2 which may make it harder to unlock.

    Hi Dan,

Can you elaborate on this one a little for me please? Is it not recommended to use the iPhone in the iPod hifi so? If so, it's just sheer luck I haven't already done so by now!

    Thanks.

Alot of ipod hifi mess up the iphone and are not repairable. There is something magnetic in them that screw the baseband there has been alot of cases with Ipod car Stereo's.Even the apple hifi has had reports that it screws the bandband. Just to add its not all Hifi's/stero's but i dont fancy taking the risk on mine.

Connecting an Ipod hifi to an Iphone damages part of it's core firmware? Where've you heard this Dan?

I have been using my iPhone since September with my iPod Hi/Fi and thankfully have not had a problem in the world......just my two cents worth.

There was a massive thread in hackint0sh. and also i asked my contact in Apple and he confirmed it.

As i said its not all Hifi.

Makes sense. So Apple in Cork are pretty knowledgeable if Iphone hardware issue then, albeit the phone isn't released here? That's efficient of them!

Just to clarify, we are talking about the Apple iPod hi-fi here, not some other 'compatible' brand name here, yeah?

    Thanks.

    http://iJailbreak.com/repo.plist

Add this to your sources in the Installer and then you can run "iJailbreakMobile" that lets you upgrade your currently Jailbroken 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 firmware to the latest 1.1.3 seemlessly.

You don't even need a computer, just a Wi-Fi connection.

No other brands more so than Apple.
