As i have said apple have done a really good job with this firmware and with the opensource any sim it has not helped it at all. Apple now how to counter act.

opensourcing anysim will have made no difference unless you believe that Apple would not have been capable of disassembling anysim and needed it to be published before they knew what was in it.

Yeah Dan but it makes no sense Apple is a multi Billion dollar company with some of the smartest people in the world working for them to suggest that they would not have known what was in Anysim and how it worked until it was published is absurd.

Come on mate don't be naive. Anything nowadays can and will be hacked. Nothing is unhackable, given time.

I think I get the message. Update to 1.1.3 and you're screwed.

Dan making anything unlockable is very difficult but that does not mean these guys are not smart they designed the iphone after all.

If people can disassemble the iphone software and figure out how to unlock it then Apple can disassemble the unlock software and figure out how it was done

Proof of that is that 1.1.2 came out before the opensourcing and it is clear that apple knew exactly what anysim was doing and closed loopholes that anysim was using.

The fact that 4.6 bootloader only allows the baseband to move up is clearly done to frustrate the anysim unlock
Of course that may come back to bite Apple on the arse as with all 4.6 BL phones they get one chance at an upgrade any errors in the upgrade and that phone is dead till a new baseband becomes available

At least till 1.1.4 or whenever a new baseband becomes available

Is there any Junk filter for Mail on the iPhone? It blocks most of the crap on OSX but it's bugging the hell out of me on the iPhone. Even if I could bulk delete it would help.

I use Gmail and it gets rid of 99% of the crap for me

I set up Gmail using IMAP, using the built in mail client. That way mails are stored server side, it's perfect.

With IMAP you can't access your email out of range of WIFI though, unless you use EDGE. I think I'll stick with the POP account as I have no intention what so ever of using EDGE with the prices they charge.

You can access the last 50 messages - which does me. More than that would be no good as I have ~3gb of mail, I'd rather keep my storage space for music!

sorry ment to say I upgraded to 1.1.1 a while back, I'd hoped that 1.1.2 might fix the imap bug that wont store smtp passwords it keeps reverting back to optional

I dont think this is fixed in 1.1.2 either but i could very well be wrong.

I find 1.1.2 a lot faster to be honest. Plus it has the phone book fixed so you don't have to have numbers entered twice to get the name to show up.

I hope 1.1.3 is unlocked soon for non OTB models as some of the features would be very handy, and I prefer to have the Apple coded software than the Installer ones, good as they are.

so worth upgrading then, did you use the hachthatiphone tutorial? cheers

it is a matter of choice

Some people are of the opinion that if it is not broke then don't fix it so if 1.1.1 is working for you then why bother

Some people think it is better to keep up with the updates if possible as there are quite a few bug fixes and new apps tend to be developed for the latest version

I have 1.1.2 and it runs fine and the hackthatiphone is a good guide

Just wondering if there a app out there to get applemail to check mail automatically, I know there is something like this in mail settings but 15 minutes is the shortest interval and that is way to long

go to the installer and uninstall customize then reinstall it would probably be the easiest way
