Good gracious. Maybe I'm growing old but some din on 2FM the other
evening (and twice in the service station at lunchtime)...
Some sort of headache inducing din about "whose your sexy girl"
with a thumping loop which made me pull into another service
station for a pack of panadol (only to hear the same thumping
loop being regurgitated on some other mainstream pop station).

What's the song/artist (so I know to avoid them at all costs).
Pure noise. Sorry - I'm sounding like my father's generation did
when I was young.. I'm guessing it's something which recently
got into the top20 playlist on yoof radio...

    song please ?

    Back to normality...

Sprite advert .... short clip with a kind of postprocessed look with guys on a basketball court diving in and a splashing/swimming pool effect.
Nice indiie soundtrack of which I can't grab enough lyrics to figure out
    what the song might be.

anyone know what it is ?

It's Thunderclap Newman - 'Something In The Air' but probably not that version in the TalkTalk ads.

    .....

A-HA.. it's by Hayley Sanderson. Information on the single release on TalkTalk's website here

For the zillionth time ;): Hotel Song by Regina Spektor.

Anyone know what tune is used for the fantastically weird, David Lynch-esque PS3 ad? It's kinda Turkish and mostly instrumental, apart from a bunch of guys shouting "hey hey hey!" every so often. Truly class. http://www.thisisliving.ie/

I thought that it was that song as well because it has the lyrics "gonna take you on" repeated. But it's not, republica have a woman singing and The Premiership is a mans voice. The song is different too. Thanks for trying though, Anyone else have any ideas?

Does anyone know what track is used in the Heineken Green Energy ad?

It's the one where the girl is wlaking down the street and she stops and starts with the car that's in traffic so she can hear the music.

Also just as an aside does anyone recognise what street that is?!?

Im trying to find out the name of a song I heard on a radio station there last week in the early hours of the morning.. all I can remember was the following words, and repeated most of what was said a lot. It was a strange song, but wanted to find out about it:-

    Some lyrics;
"Did I mention the car wash?"

I know its very vague, ill see if I can remember anymore. Any help, appreciated.

    Cheers

"say i want ya, say i need ya" all i can remember now been looking for the song for ages and just found this thread. As far as i know its an english band and the songs been featured in a couple of tv shows. Only other way i can describe it is it was a kind of hardish brit rock song.

    Which CSI?

Each show in the CSI franchise takes its tune from a song by The Who, "Who Are You" for the original, "Won't Get Fooled Again" for CSI Miami, and "Baba O'Riley" (or more commonly known as "Teenage Wasteland") for CSI-NY.

The orig. one with grishim, although the one with wolf's (Miami?) not a bad tune either...thanks!

This one is really getting to me...

It was (I think) a new age one hit wonder for some group in the 90s.
Very haunting intro and no lyric line other than a female vocalist
with a haunting voice like an ethnic Kate Bush .. repeating something
like "Only you..."..(could be oliou or some other foreign word mind you).

Probably came out around the time of Enigma had a few hits in that
mould (not my cuppa tea but the one above is very atmospheric
and is killing me that I can't remember the title or the band)..

    anyone ??

    Only You, Portishead

  • Registered Users Posts: 880 ✭✭✭ifconfig

Nope - not Portishead ... I think this one predates Portishead and it's a
quite overproduced sound which is not unlike the sort of stuff Enigma
and quasi-ethnic new age outfits used and still use.
There's a haunting synth pad sound running through this one...

I'm trying to get the name of a piece that was done a few years ago (approx early 90's maybe slightly earlier) involving a woman on a saxophone playing with a guy on classical guitar. The piece was basically these two playing the same notes. Whatever the woman played, the guy would repeat on the guitar.

If anyone knows the name of the tune or the artists involved I'd appreciate it.
