There are quite a few great plates running around these days.. anyone seen ones that are apt, memorable,funny or just plain silly? Heres a pic of the most expensive N.I plate on a Dodge Ram LHD... its apt both for the size of the beast it is on and for the price paid (£104,000 sterling) (the same guy from belleek in Co.…

Garda drivers junkyard - not Bertie, (he doesn't have a driving licence). Gardai (while in the line of duty) are exempt from most of the road traffic regulations anyway.

Did you ever 'transfer' a registration, or know of anybody who did?

If so, What was the procedure?

I got one done around 1984, it was a real cloak and dagger affair, it cost me a couple of hundred pounds at the time and I had to know a person working there to get it done. I don't know what the big deal was or is tbh, they could make quite a bit of money out of it if they wanted to.

I presume that somewhere there must be a latvian car with the reg FU 2

I just checked and the reg FU 2 is issued in the UK and is currently on a 1992 Merc 600 SEL!

There is a Seat Ibiza for sale in Duffy's Garage (Citroen Dealer), Newbridge with the reg 05-D-IBIZA !

(05-D-13124 ....plate has 'graphic' writing so looks like 'IBIZA' at first glance:D).

I was in Cork City today and spotted a very rare plate, a Kuwaiti one :eek:. It was on a Black Mitsubishi Colt (LHD) that was parked in the Wilton Shopping Centre around 2.30 to 3.30ish. A number plate from Kuwait was a first for me anyway. I snapped it on my phone.
