Saw a reg of 06-D4 yesterday...not sure of the car but the owner was obviously proud of his postal address...

It looks ok when they have a number 4 only but when people seperate the 4 from the rest of the reg, it looks silly. eg. 06 D4 1234. It was all the rage when the new plates came out first but is probably considered a bit naff nowadays.

I saw a Ford Explorer with California plates about two weks ago on the N3, and today I saw yet another car with Kuwait plates (again with Arabic font). It was a Mitsi Colt.

Yup, little one off Donegal that a car ferry travels to bi-yearly and foot passenger ferry daily, if the law are on the boat... the islanders get a phone call with 1 hour notice to hide anything illegal ;)

whats the bets this guy is a software engineer :)

the year ('01) is about right for the dot com days, when we all drove 911's; hence the S3.

Hmmm.........wonder where that reg is from?

Foreign cars in Ireland should by law display an Oval (i.e. GB, IRL etc) sticker.

No pic, but saw a purple Volvo C70 this morning on the N7 near the RCR.

Its reg was normally spaced 98 C 70.

The irionic thing was, someone was vein enough to buy the car, and book that reg, but the plate was put on crooked.

Suprised nobody has mentioned the ultimate plate - FU2 :D

    the 01010101 spacing is odd as Ive see a new mini with 03 D 30303 - 03 03 03 03

A neighbour had SI 1 many years ago, doubt his name was Simon though :)

I saw a Mercedes C-Class in Templeouge yesterday morning with Arizona plates. That's about the 5th American reg. car I've seen here in the past 2 or so months.

What sort of car had the 'SI 1' reg ?

I recall seeing a BMW series a few years ago with the plate - SIII.
It was either 'SI 11' or 'SI 2' arranged as SIII !

    It was a Sierra I think,was only a wee'un at the time though :)

Reading back through here MIN 1 was/is on a mini,as was a 'first and last' reg - 1 Z (the XXX Z prefix being a Kerry reg)

I thought this one was pretty apt, the day after the Government told the Romanians to "Bog off"

Was this in the UK or something? AFAIK they only got up to FTI by the end of 1986, and that would too late for a Mk. I Golf anyway. 16 TI or some altered number would be more plausible - I think TI was used around 1980.
