Just finished Season 2 there. Didn’t enjoy it anywhere near as much as season 1. It’s a muddled mess jumping from plot point to plot point. So many missteps here. Maximus was once again terrible, but that was the case in the first season too.

In terms of positives, some of the set designs looked cool. Walton Goggins makes it watchable, he is awesome. That’s about it for the positives.

I’ll spoiler just in case.

The portrayal of The Legion - wow. They could not have botched this any more than they did. They are supposed to be fearsome, savage, ideological extremists, but they are basically played for laughs here. The bit in the finale with the dead Caesar holding a note saying the Legion ends with him - direct contradiction of what Caesar said in FNV. I’m not asking for total consistency with the game here, but making this change shows that they missed the entire point of Caesar’s character in the game - to defeat the NCR and ensure The Legion is in a position to endure and grow long after he himself dies.

I’m speculating but I can’t help but feel the writers of the show allowed their own feelings to get in their way here. Yes, The Legion are reprehensible but they’ve done the source material a massive disservice by choosing to portray them essentially as comedic relief.

The entire sub plots in the vault amount to basically nothing, just a waste of the viewers time. The very rushed origin story for Stephanie where we see she went full girl boss mode was also a pointless waste of time.

It’s a shame as I enjoyed season 1 which was probably a 7.5/10 for me. Season 2 was probably a 6/10 at best.

The Legion were pretty crap in the game too. They were a massive let down compared to the Enclave in 3.

I’m not a fan of these weekly shows. I know they want to drag it out so people talk about it but it feels like starting and stopping and episodes where not much happens feel like a rip off.

Loved the season. Thought it was very well done and already happy to hear season3 starts filming in September.

Great quotes, special effects, and faithful to the games in most aspects. They've done a great job of it.

Didnt enjoy that at all. And I finally figured out why as usually this kind of show would be right up my street.

Its the constant cutting. Even in the last fight with maximus they must have cut out of the fight about 20 times. And then I realized the whle show does that all the time. You cant get into a scene at all before it jumps out into another.

Its enjoyable enough when I watch it but its very forgettable. It looks great and I love the music/feel of it but there's very little substance to it.

Season 2 was very light plot wise, felt like half a season opposed to a full season

The nuclear war scene at the beginning is possibly the best one ever filmed…that part seems to be mostly realistic, except for the flash being too mild for that distance? But eventually the series just…lacks something and gets boring. Not sure why. Maybe it starts to feel too Hollywood?

I have dusted off my old edition of Fallout 4 and have put a lot of hours in again since finishing season 2!
