I can't say for sure with Ryanair, but it's 100% not a problem with Aer Lingus - I got caught abroad with only my passport card, not realising that you can't check in online with a passport card (🙄) - so I checked in with my passport number which I knew off by heart, and it was no problem whatsoever.

I'd say the same applies with Ryanair - but open to correction if anyone knows different!

If you have just booked in the last few hours and have not checked in yet - get onto the ryanair chat to either confirm or fix it. Its better to get it sorted now then a potential refuse boarding/pay mega bucks at the gate. (just because you can do it on AerLingus doesn't mean that Ryanair are the same)

You don't need passport numbers for booking - I'd say he's just checked in.

Correct, when checking in I noticed the two options when doing mine whereas on the wifes I clicked one or the other, not sure which ,and could not find a way to see what I did click.

Was checking online and its not conclusive whether its an issue or not.

    Update,

logged into my Ryanair account ,not the App,and was able to see I actually did click Passport.

    Phew

I have checked in with one and used the other. Not deliberately. Nothing was said. However, better safe than sorry, just contact them on chat to double check

Similar experience - checked in with passport, used EU ID card. Deliberately. Had both with me though while travelling, so it wouldn't create a problem anyway. :-)

Problems galore with Ryanair computer systems in Dublin today.

Message in app saying that flights could be delayed due to "runway maintenance" but ......

Must have been at least 80% of the bag drop weighing scales out of action with one Ry staff member running around trying to sort it out. The one's that did eventually work took and age to load.

Scanners for putting your bag on the conveyor belt after weighing not working.

All tickets had to be manually checked against passport at gate.

Nothing for sale on flight but coffee and tea, (but no milk). Flight attendant said there was no restocking due to a problem with some Ry services.

This was late afternoon, didn't seem to cause too much of a hold up (flight was 20mins late departing) but I hope they have it sorted before the morning rush.
