If the flight was cancelled you are entitled to the cost of the flight back.

They had a contract with you to get you from A to B which they did not fulfil. You're definitely entitled to a refund.

I presume your correspondence has not yet been in writing. I think that's your next step.

When taking a laptop through security with Ryanair, does it have to be turned on or off?

Flying from Knock to London in a few days for about 2 weeks. My laptop has a problem, I live in a remote area and I'm sure I can find an expert in London. Only trouble is, the problem is such that any non-expert turning it on just once more could make the problem much more difficult to fix (long story, but it's not a virus).

So could I be sure of not having to turn it on, being asked to, or a security person doing it, en route? (If not, I won't risk it).

Ryanair won't have any checks on the laptop, it will be airport security if they want to inspect it. I've never had to power mine up but I have had it swabbed for I assume drugs/explosives in Ireland, UK and Spain going through security.

Hi all, booked a flight back in January using the family plus rate. Paid half then and half due in May.

I foolishly checked the same flight today and it is considerably cheaper! I assume Ryanair will not entertain any partial refund?!

what’s the thoughts of Boardsies on the new Ryanair scam of paying €75 for a ‘Prime’ membership. ????

looks like the usual race to the bottom….. before long you won’t be able to even book a seat without a membership number!!! You heard it here first!!!!

Yes you are correct. However, i've since discovered…with Family Plus there is an option to not pay the 2nd installment. Ryanair then cancel your booking and "refund" the first installment payment to your Ryanair wallet. Apparently you cannot widthdraw this to a payment card but can use it to book another flight withing 36 months. The 2nd installment is due 40 days before your flight.

Has anyone here done this? I wonder if you cannot withdraw to a payment card or do they just say that?!

They will probably start quoting their fares at this new artificially low rate, similar to Wizz air.

The would consider it store credit. Frankly, you are lucky getting credit as they normally do not do refunds.
