Oh I know that but compared to last September when they released the schedules there were way more flights

Ryanair constantly complain about landing fees at Cork - do not be surprised if they cut the schedule

They complain about landing fees at every airport they operate out of, it's part of their model, to constantly threaten to pull routes from airports.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26 Irishavgeek202

They definitely haven’t cut the schedule. Pretty much same as Summer 2025 so far. They don’t have to add flights every year at Cork either. Other airports go ages without extra aircraft and routes being added so same can apply to Cork.

Still early days also and schedules won’t be confirmed until later on in the year

Think people are panicking because early days are showing increases from Shannon and looks like they have Madrid for summer.

No need to panic yet people. In the past summer announcements continue into January. The figures have been v good the last few years and Cork have other airlines too that will be noting the figures

Aer Lingus won't cover any routes that Ryanair pull out of, they really don't care about Cork.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 215 ✭✭TheBrownBird32

If they didn’t care about Cork they wouldn’t have bothered adding new routes after cutting Amsterdam in March.

However, I don’t think we will see much growth from EI next summer as they won’t have anymore aircraft on order, and the 3 aircraft that are based in Cork are already heavily utilised.

I can see extra flights on existing routes yes but operated by DUB aircraft on a W pattern like GLA and BRS

I'm finding pricing on the Cork - CDG and Cork- Ams so high. Ate these flights actually full? Even looking at months in advance are costly. When you compare the Shannon or Dublin routes. Why are they so high?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,780 ✭✭✭hans aus dtschl

What are you seeing roughly? I think I'm getting them at 250-300 ish on average. Flights do generally seem to be full alright when I'm on them because they're using the ATS (only needs 136 people). I had a friend complaining about the ORK/AMS prices to me recently, but I don't really remember them being massively cheaper, maybe €50 or so on average? Of course in DUB you can get €100-150 kinda prices which is enviable, but I don't get enough savings out of that, because I'm losing 6 or more travel hours and adding other transport and associated food costs.

Because neither KLM nor AF want you to use them for just going to AMS or CDG, they are more interested in using the ORK route to feed you into their long distance or pan European network.

There are periods where you can get a flight connecting via AMS/CDG cheaper than a ORK-AMS/CDG only, that is by design.

Yeah, prices are roughly that, and more. Even months away. It's almost impossible to get away for a few days with teens. Prices are pushing me to go to the sun with RAir.

Any other RA flight is eastern European christmas markets rubbish from next month on. Apologies to those liking the markets.

I forgot that was the reason for the Ams flights, the connections.

I look at Shannon and they really have a decent lot of everything.

Mate they literally went onto Bordeaux as soon as Ryanair went off it this year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 215 ✭✭TheBrownBird32

Looking at FR’s first wave departures on June 1 2026, it looks like all four based aircraft will be 737 Max.

Anyone hearing any rumours of any planned new Ryanair routes for next summer 2026?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48 fjr13

I see on the Aer Lingus Website latest offers, Lisbon appears as a destination .Not available to book yet. Announcement due shortly?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 215 ✭✭TheBrownBird32

Really? I don’t see it anywhere. Great route to get back!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48 fjr13

Not on the App , on the website. Latest Cork offers, Munich, Bilbao , Lyon and Lisbon. Im looking at it now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 215 ✭✭TheBrownBird32

Ah yeah I see it. Weird it says “Travel UNTIL March 30” though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 798 ✭✭✭DylanQuestion

Lisbon with Aer Lingus was supposed to start before Covid happened, so I’d be delighted if it did finally start! It seems like a no brainer, with Faro being wildly popular

Does anyone know how the Prague flights are doing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 215 ✭✭TheBrownBird32

Decent enough loads for the first few flights so far. Still 3 and a bit weeks to go yet.

Lisbon operated in ‘18 and ‘19 I’m sure

Yes Lisbon resumed in Winter 18 after a break for a few years and continued up until Covid impacted

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 798 ✭✭✭DylanQuestion

Thanks all, not sure why I thought it hadn’t actually started. Here’s hoping! Between Lisbon and Newark, AL’s website is potentially accidentally revealing a lot

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26 Irishavgeek202

I would be very surprised if Newark was true!
The 321 are all accounted for next summer. So it seems highly unlikely EI would do it.!

Cork’s runway is a issue aswell. Why would they launch a route and have to cap seats.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 215 ✭✭TheBrownBird32

I think we’ll get just Lisbon with EI next summer, if what’s showing on the website is not an error.

One of the 3 aircraft was available on Monday evenings this summer, so I could see a Lisbon departure during then.

Then the other flight will likely be on a DUB aircraft coming from Lisbon, as for the rest of the week Cork’s 320s are fully utilised.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26 Irishavgeek202

Cork’s schedule will probably be amended if needed.
People assumed late 2024 Cork was getting 5 aircraft but EI where in fact only updating the times.
So more than likely you will see amendments to the schedule in the next few weeks if they are adding Lisbon

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 215 ✭✭TheBrownBird32

Very true but even with BIO and BOD added this year the schedule was very similar to last year’s - TFS and ACE first wave, AGP and PMI in the evening. FAO and DBV went to earlier in the mornings but still small changes due to AMS getting cut.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,249 ✭✭✭Chris_5339762

Newark would be nice but we of course have the issue that Shannon flies to New York but has Preclearance.

Preclearance was always great but with the ICE of this world now, doing all of your immigration in Shannon/Dublin and just going home if there are problems would beat any Cork departures anyway.

Lisbon will be quite good to have though. Lets have a few more Gatwicks from Ryanair while we're at it too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26 Irishavgeek202

The main issue is Cork’s runway. It’s too short for a fully loaded 321. Airlines would have to limit seats etc.

Cost is the main thing people look at when flying not Pre clearance. This is why many people around Cork go via AMS & LHR to US aswell, because it’s more convenient for them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,516 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

It was, but in the current climate if I was to go to the US, I would not go without having pre clearance.

Getting rejected in Ireland vs being detained indefinitely in the US.

I wonder, if the Newark route was actually true, if EI were to fly to there on a 320neo with a fuel stop in Iceland or St Johns, would people still want to fly?

Surely the loads wouldn’t need to be restricted then right? They wouldn’t need a stopover on the way back so I wouldn’t see EI losing too much money on a route like that.
