If they owned and ran the business before they became a TD what should they do? Close them down and have people lose a job over it?

Of all the TDs to complain about, people certainly do know what they are getting at every election when they elect the Healy Raes.

    No Point in complaining.

The Healy-Raes are all loaded and probably inherited their millions from Jackie Healy-Rae, and have been adding their own piles to it since. They're the only ones who know how much time they devote to the "family" businesses, but I'm sure that there would be rumblings if people got wind that they weren't spending enough time representing their constituents.

Back in the "good" old days of the likes of Jimmy Deenihan, and probably Dan Kiely, I never heard anything about what they achieved or didn't achieve before they got turfed out by the electorate. I never saw them from one bit of election canvassing to the next. Michael Healy-Rae seems to be everywhere though, perhaps he's got clones? 😜

The council are due to close off some streets in town for up to a year from next month to facilitate road works….as if we haven't enough problems with traffic in town! And great time in the start to the run up to the festive season etc! Always great timing by the council. They did the pavements around Edward st, Castle st a few years ago and they are already wrecked. I was walking through the square yesterday and the paving stones are in a bad way, they have so many cracks and bits missing. They are in bad need of being redone too.

To be fair, anytime is bad. Could do it in spring with the run up to tourists in the summer
