When you should really look for a better job and a better paid job but you the current job has ground you down into a puddle of exhaustion and resentment.

Need to dispose of some leftover Bork that was blocking the thread.

I fancied a cup of regular tea earlier (normally drink green tea), boiled the kettle, got the teabag, let it brew. TA when I got the milk out of the fridge it was gone off 😭

Kids screaming next door outside regularly whenever it's dry and bright.

And I mean ear piercing ridiculous screaming that would rattle your bones. And it's been going on for years. It's like an endless supply of screamers.

And they are never told to STFU. I have the window closed and it's still going through me.

It's great they are playing outside but FFS.

    ...

They've gone quiet now. They must be fueling up on coke and sugar.

    Bring on the rain.

Wanna go for a walk but I’d forgotten to charge my headphones…power was 5% and I know by the time I get up to 50% I’ll just be like… ‘ fûck it, putting on games console ‘…..hate walks and no music.

I got sucked in to a clickbait AI video about how new revelations and breakthroughs in 2025 mean we now know the idendity of Jack the Ripper.

Eh hello... I read a book years ago that revealed him as the killer, the author discovered DNA evidence and everything. He said the media weren't interested in his discovery because the Ripper is more of a cash cow for them if his idendity remains unknown.

While I think the suspect is plausible and thought so before this 'revelation', if it's this DNA evidence there's a lot of questions about it which is possibly why media were wary of it.

TA… what is the best thread to discuss this case? it gets confusing.

It was Kosminski the author has him bang to rights. He even uncovered that certain top cops of the time knew it was him, also his family strongly suspected him. They didn't want to go the public route of arrest and trial because as he was a Jewish immigrant they were afraid of reprisals against the Jewish community. They put him in a mental asylum for the rest of his life, that is why the killings stopped when they did.

I am trying to think of the name of the book. I will tell you when I remember it @odyssey06 .

Car insurance renewal time. Shop around and same annoying bullcrap every time. The insurance websites require all your contact details before they produce a figure and then bombard you with e-mails, texts and phone calls trying to get you to take theirs even if the quote is off the scale. Told a guy yesterday that I didn't ask for a phone call and he got humpy!

When you read a thread title on Boards, go to the latest page of posts, and they have absolutely nothing to do with the title.

Read an amusing take on that particular phenomena recently.
The theory being put forward was that in any public online discussion forum regardless of the topic and no matter how innocent if the discussion extends beyond X number of pages someone will get told that they are “ worse than Hitler “ 🤔

I work in a lab. On occasion, someone will bring one of those infernal water bottles in and I have to ask them to leave it outside.

About an hour ago, I had to do this with a student and she acted like I was screaming at her.

Sense of entitlement of some people is absurd these days.

At least its getting spelled correctly.

When we were younger, we were told it was D-I-A, two splutters and a splash!

The number of times I've bought a pack of envelopes when I only need one!

Just filled out an online form while away from home and needed to get a supporting document in the post. I know I have 3 packs of A4 envelopes at home but at least I now have all the paperwork done and another pack of A4 envelopes.

Wake me up when it's all over.

SUV drivers that think they own the road. If they have to move out into oncoming traffic to pass parked cars or whatever they are supposed to wait till if is safe to do so. No, they think they can just drive out and force oncoming traffic to move for them. Sorry but the women picking up their children are the worst and the bigger and more expensive the SUV the more entitled they believe they are.

Happened today and yesterday-somebody basically slamming on the brakes with a row of cars behind them so they could let somebody who was waiting turn in off the road. Are you trying to cause a fecking pile up you ninny?

I bashed the funny bone in my elbow. Caught it a good one. Whoever came up with that name should be sacked, I wasn't laughing anyway.

I finished up my work contract two weeks ago and am taking a bit of time off. Decided to tackle my To Be Read book pile but it's all heavy-going/worthy stuff. I'm on my third one now (Carrion Crow by Heather Parry) and I'm beginning to lose the will to live. Going to have to go for something a bit lighter next. Perhaps some Cormac McCarthy 🤣

The aggressive and overly confrontational Luas employee.

She needs some serious anger management. The guy could actually do her for assault. I have seen people on here with the opinion that everyone should be made to work in retail for a year but there are some people who should never be let near a job where they interact with the public, this lady is one of them.

The american shop worker who got a customer in a headlock and punched the head off her because she put the money on the counter instead of into her hand would be another good example.

Hanging out a laundry load that contains a lot of kids' underwear/socks. It takes forever and you need a million pegs.

I need to buy a few of those peg tree things my mam had.
