I agree it send the wrong signal to the team. The first substitutions did as well taking Breen off for Dylan Casey. Putting Morley in front of Murphy was telling Meath come on down this wing and make hay.

You get the impression that Jack decided he wanted a home QF before the game at all.

I be surprised of the do either. If Clare beat Louth we will have a strong opponent in Killarney next weekend if it's Galway they will have a similar turnaround to us.

Yes Meath were missing 6 starters. Some of Meaths best players.

    Meath were missing

    Jack Flynn Meaths best midfielder

Ronan Jones Leader of the team last years captain the only player on team who is aged 26 to 29

Jack kinlough Another first team starter played every game this year when fit

Brian O’Halloran Meath Corner back another first team starter, started every game this year but Cork game

James Conlon Meaths best forward this year Man of the match v Dubs & Roscommon scoring 6 pts from play in both games

Matthew Costello The Best footballer in county Meath by a mile

Conor Gray Another midfielder would have started only he is still recovering from 3 months with pneumonia and pile of injuries

Meach were so depleted at midfield Meath played O Neill who is defender and only ever played twice before for Meath at midfield.

Listen kerry will be back. Us in Meath have great respect and admiration for kerry. I think we both like beating Cork and Dublin, and when the Kingdom beat the Dubs, we in Meath are always the Kingdom number 1 fan. And Beating kerry is like beating All blacks of Gaelic football. U guys are always the benchmark. The genius of kerry football is you always comeback from defeat stronger. Kerry will regroup and I still think it will be kerry v Armagh final. Extra games will bring kerry on. Get Paudi Clifford back, it changes everything.

Just regards Meath this is completely new young Meath team, probably youngest team in country average age 22 23 ,with some of the best talent to come out Meath since 90s. Caulfield Meath wing back is good wing back I have ever play for Meath, hes only 21. Kinsella best playmaker since Giles again 21 and Morris is better at 24 than Ollie Murphy was at 24. This Meath team has huge potential. This year and next year will be very up and down but in 2027 2028 when players like Frayne Caulfield Duke Coffey hit 23 24, and Costello Flynn Morris hit 26 27, I think Meath will have serious team. This year they are improving at huge rate. They R youngest team ever to beat Kerry and Dublin in same championship. Only 5 th leinster team to beat kerry and Dublin in same championship. Other team were Meath 2001 Kildare 1998 1927 Offaly 1982 and outside leinster only 4 teams have beaten Kerry and Dubs in same year they are Tyrone 2008 2005 Armagh 2002 Cork 1989.

As I said kerry will be back, anyone who writes of the Kingdom knows nothing about football. In my view kerrys 38 All Ireland is one greatest achievement in Irish sport. As Colm O'Rourke says there are 3 certainties in life, paying taxes, death and kerry winning Sam.

Great to see Meath back where they belong. Great for the Leinster championship and football in general.

Ye have tradition but it's great for kids to see a successful team and new heroes to follow rather than talk about the past and the team in the 90s.

I think the new rules suit Meath as ye very strong at winning kickouts.

Can't see us beating Armagh but who knows if we can get our injured players back.

If DOC and Barry Dan are both out, then I think we're too weak in midfield to compete.

It's the most important position now.

Agreed. They'll also have had two weeks off going into that game.

Barry Dan has been terrific this season, but believe it was knee ligament damage he suffered and speculation is his season is over.

SaSaw the team today, not happy Paul Murphy in instead of Dylan Casey. It's a bit of a joke now trying to fit Murphy into tge team. We are playing Graham O Sullivian out if position, and having Casey on the bench and Burke not on the bench. At present we are carrying as many free passengers as the average CIE bus

I am inclined to agree with Darragh O Se on his assessment on the two links below.

Agree on this, same old failings again, all chips in with the same group on his last year as manager.

I fully expect us to beat Cavan, even though they won't be a complete push over having 3 Div1 teams played.

We've nothing played since the league & fear us getting caught in the quarters.

That's surely his season over now as well. Disaster.

If results go as expected this weekend and we play Armagh next weekend, they'd be laughing watching that performance. Could be an embarrassing result next weekend
