Yeah, weird that they do it straight after the game for the semi finals but leave it until Monday morning to draw for the quarter finals and just a few days turnaround.

Yeah, Tyrone are motoring nicely and will be tough. Kerry will be doing it the hard way if they go on and win it. Meath with every chance against Donegal too. Set up for a great end to the season.

Just home. Absolutely incredible performance that I can’t wait to watch back. Didn’t see that coming with the injuries they have and the way they had been playing.

I see a few other posters called it, fair play.

meath will test them because they have tow good midfielders and a series of hard grafters all over the field , but they are very young yet and this season will stand to them , donegal will probably do enough

kerry were sensational in the second half today , but they wont get the same space against tyrone in the semi final , armagh had a great defensive system like galway last year but the game has changed since ,if you have good man to man defenders you will go far and tyrone have them in hampsey , devlin and mcgeary, it wont be enough but its better than what armagh had today

i put a few quid on ye after ye won the league , i stuck an extra few bob on when ye lost to meath given the team and especially subs out that day ye went up to 9/2 at one point , i am expecting ye to get the job done but as you say it wont be easy from here

Amazing 2nd half from Kerry , congrats

I'm delighted I was so wrong.

I didn't see that performance coming tbh.

The new rules has given no credence to previous years championships, Armagh today & Meaths run so far are proof that it will take at least a year for teams to get mentally into the new rules.

I'd love to see what mileage Joe o connor clocked today he was everywhere.

Its a huge win & the manner to keep after the scores is really positive. They've stood up now..can't be any excuses in the semi

    Well done lads

After Armagh's start to the second half, it felt like the injuries were too much of a bridge to overcome and Armagh would kick on but the response was ridiculously impressive.

Armagh just couldn't get near them when Kerry had the ball and the defending at the death was very impressive.

Although they Didn't help themselves, they could have tried to kick a few points near the end to get the score down, we all know how nervy Kerry can be in those types of situations

WWhat Did Darragh o se say this week that made Peter canavan reference it on the Sunday Game...

Jack o connor also seems to be irritated by Darraghs comments..

Jack thinks lads like darragh should contribute to Kerry football instead of criticising all the time… does Jack realise that darragh did do a bit of coaching with u21s.. and he was crap at it and the further away he stays from coaching the better...

He said Jack has failed to "future proof" the team and that there was an air of inevitability about a quarter final exit.

It's a fairly scathing article in fairness.

Did not see it coming either. Superb 15 minutes in the second half. 14 points in 15 minutes probably 11 scores.

That's not the only one. There was an article earlier in the year also, basically saying that nobody knew who Jack's new selectors were etc. I don't have a link.

More disappointment for the minors. Seems to be history repeating itself at this stage. Thought they'd be able to see it out, great chance to equalise at the very end too.

    Yeah twas a sickner

V entertaining game..some great fielding & scores from both sides

Always good to beat Tyrone. Great atmosphere and they were a joy to watch.

They did leave some amount of scores behind though. Could have been a nervy end had Tyrone scored that goal chance at the end.

Am just delighted that we're back in a final and all fingers and toes crossed that we finish it out now. Up the kingdom!!

Our Defence was brilliant yesterday, now some of Tyrone shooting was very bad put put under a lot of pressure

Well lads, What's the initial feeling after the weekends action?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,062 ✭✭✭orangerhyme

    Nervous.

    Donegal very impressive.

I worry about them when the game opens up in the second half and they empty the bench.

Yeah, I worry that the last 2 games were against poor performances. Both teams had numerous chances against us and if they had taken some of the earlier ones, then the result might have been different.

Some players are playing so well that you'd have confidence in them for the final. But others are a bit inconsistent and again, we're too reliant on a few.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,062 ✭✭✭orangerhyme

Donegal are a little over hyped also I think. Their results all year aren't that impressive.

The Meath game isn't a great indication as I thought they were poor. Even when Meath attacked in the first half, they did so very naively. Poor shot selection and decision making.

    We'll be far more efficient.

More confident than I was before watching the Meath v Donegal game yesterday. Didn't see a whole pile from Donegal that should worry us tbh. Kerry won't wilt like Meath did, won't be as wasteful as they were and have the experience at the back now to deal with the Doengal threat better. Yesterday, the game was over at half time truth be told and Donegal had the luxury to empty the bench after 40-45mins.

It'll be closer than the quarter and semi final but I'd still expect a Kerry win by 3-4 points

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,062 ✭✭✭orangerhyme

My worry would be Donegal getting a goal on the break in the final stretch from their bench.

I do think they're a little over hyped though.

I think Micheal Murphy will have a quite game.

Tactically Donegal put lots of men close to the goals to create space outside. Then they handpass it around to find space for a score.

If Paul Geaney could play, it'd be great.

Donegal are a fantastic team and i think its going to take a performance for the ages from Kerry to defeat them… i think this donegal team has the potential to do 5-in-a-row they are that good…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,412 ✭✭✭awaywithyou

yes i noticed that yesterday a pile of their players are between the opposition end line and 13metre line leaving loads of room around the Arc/D area for other players to shoot… i think its a good tactic… how do you negate it though??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,062 ✭✭✭orangerhyme

Look at their results earlier in the championship. They beat Armagh after ET. They almost drew with Mayo. Tyrone beat them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,062 ✭✭✭orangerhyme

I'm not sure. There's not much you can do. You have to mark the lads inside.

I noticed Meath had noone or very few inside so it made it easier for Donegal to protect the arc.

    They'll have to learn.

Kerry do similar. They use the full width of the pitch also to create space.

Don't overdo the Yerra yet. It's too early 🤣🤣

Our bench isn't as light as people think which has been proven in the amount of players we have lost and every fella who has got his chance has stood up, all with massive pressure on them. Kerry have shown tactical maturity against 2 tricky opponents to close games out. It seems they've actually learned from all the mistakes in recent years and in earlier games this season.
