He Mustn't be viewing p casey o Neill and o Donovan as starters cos if they're 100% they wouldn't weaken the Limerick team in anyway. Who knows what's going on in there though you'll have to trust their judgement.

Rightly or wrongly byrnes is being targeted at half back I think o Neill might be able to do a job for us there but of course it's a qf and for obvious reasons no chances will be taken.

Maynooth to Monatestervan via Rathangan is the route to take on busy days, avoids all traffic

Bull must be injured played well when he came on in Munster Final. Hope its not serious

They wouldn't weaken the team but what is out there has done little wrong to suggest they should be dropped either.

Casey or Reidy is pretty 50/50 and Morrissey and O'Neill similar. All 4 will probably see game time in every match when fit it's just a case of who starts and who finishes.

O'Donovan hasn't a hope of starting ahead of English due to how good the latter is. He only starts if Lynch was out and English moved up.

    avoid toll ?

Casey and o Neill will make bigger impacts of the bench than Morrissey or reidy would. It's a 20 man game now. Just because someone is not starting doesn't mean there not rated.

Kingston of cork is a classic example

Hope WOD improves in croke park as in my view he is the luckiest player to be a regular, I think he is fine for a battle game down in ennis or walsh park but I'd prefer CON in the vast expanses of croke park, way better scoring threat too

They are totally different players playing totally different roles. O'Neill can't do what O'Donoghue does and in fact no one in the country can. He is absolutely integral to Limerick.

It's not all about being able to score.

I remember filling in as a last minute replacement goalie to play a challenge match on the Pavilion astroturf in UL, a good few years ago now, with the Na Piarsaigh Under 21 squad against a visiting club from Kerry. Obviously Gaelic Football so, says ye. 😁 A lot of the hurlers were still playing both codes at that age level. I saw Will O'Donoghue and Adrian Breen perform impossible skills with the big ball that night, stuff that would make you gasp if you saw it on hurling highlights. Unbelievable talents, and they've only gotten better since.

Agree. He does all the dirty work around the pitch. He's what they call in soccer the water carrier.

Worrying at half time, 35 minutes gone and WOD hasn't actually touched the ball, like playing with 14 players, we have wizards like casey and CON on the bench then which is puzzling

what on earth is going on. Looks like we were on the beer last night

worst ever under Kiely especially against 14. For majority of match. Cant wait to see what Kiely has to say its not inaccurate.its lack of fight. No fight today

Kiely’s loyalty blinded him, far too many players were immune to being dropped.

Have the Hayes family criminal issues had any impact on all of this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 103 ✭✭Shocs24

    Hard to understand.

Dublin fully deserved the win. No question.

KIely and Kinnerk haven't covered themselves in glory though in loosing to Dublin with 14 men.

Horrible to think that the tippy/tappy lot have a much easier path to end the 20 yr famine

End of the road for this team. William O Donoghue, Diarmuid Byrnes, Hannon , Sean Finn, Tom Morrissey. Its over for them and the signs have been there for awhile.

Management should be sacked for not taking anyone off earlier besides Nash who was horrific. O Neill was terrible... passed away a ball for a point, cross field passes intercepted.

ZZero Goal threat. Gillane back to his old ways of missing tap ins and scoring screamers. As good and all as Lynch is, he doesnt score much.. Its the worst iv ever seen this team play and for me it's over for them. How Byrnes was left on for the 70 I ll never know. The young guys are good but brainless ...look at Adam English going for a point in the last play of the game. Hurling is a great game amd its crazy how a great team like limerick comes to an end..Against a 14 man Dublin side that ll be beat by 15 points by Kilkenny. Cork as the picadors in the Munster final applied the darts to the great Bull that is Limerick and the matadors of Dublin applied the coup de grace.

A septic display all round, a few guys will retire or be retired after this season. With little coming through from outside the panel we'll slide down the placings a bit while we rebuild. Without the raw materials the management team looks very human.

umchanged team from a losing munster final was shocking albeit penalties. Its not captain hindsight either i called that well before today

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,243 ✭✭✭PeggyShippen

Id agree 100% with that. Management looked absolutely beat up a stick today. How in God's name did they not bring on Casey sooner? Theres an old Treaty Sarsfield/ Thomondgate saying the Limerick never win an All Ireland without at least 5 city starters. The brainless stuff today was shocking. Gillanes miss was a sin, an absolute sin. Who played well? Adam English and Hegarty and both of them hit some brutal wides. Kilkenny would have beaten them anyway..no doubt about it but i wonder is JP going to ask how they could lose to a 14 man Dublin who have zero chance of getting anywhere near a Liam McCarthy. Kiely and Kinnerk were like dummies in that first half ..thinking the old stagers would play themselves into the game ....they couldn't. Even Hannon coming on..2 to 3 brutal wides! Big job of work ahead for Limerick Management. Nash was like an old woman and thats crazy. They must have been training hard this week because Kiely is lying if he said Limerick were focused on this game.

That's a bit unfair to say Kilkenny will beat them by 15points take your beating and admit a 14 man Dublin were brilliant

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 394 ✭✭dvega

Hannon looked fucked after 10 minutes, a desperate call when we are struggling. Aidan o connor taken off when he was our best forward? Will o donoghue is a massive loss when he is not playing right. Gillane missing a free after 2 minutes set the tone. English obsession with trying to get points with play in front of him.

I said when hayes pushed forward and nothing around him, really summed up our game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 888 ✭✭✭xl500

    Don't think that happened

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,243 ✭✭✭PeggyShippen

Im from Clare. 100% Dublin were brilliant and a joy to behold. It is abit unfair of me. Apologies .

William O Donoghue passed a ball from 30 yards out infront of the posts . He cant even shoot when infant of the posts anymore. Hes done , games moved on. A midfielder has to score now, no matter how good his tackling was. Its not enough.
