Couple of years ago Model Y had some deep discounts, I recall it being 41k, 40k even (down from 50ks).

Can anyone recall what triggered that from Tesla's side?

If they offer a serious discount (or a serious trade in price for my Model 3), I could be tempted (although V2G, elmo, support.. hmmmm).

with just 10 days to go to sell, finance and deliver the car, it’s unlikely you’re going to hear about any deals at this stage I would say.

Also, it’s supply and demand - they don’t really have that much supply, as all the cars in the country have buyers for July and not as many for June, so it’s slim pickings. M3 inventory shows just 20 new cars, mostly LR’s, and maybe 40 ish Y’s

the deal you’d get is no wait-time

Are you mixing up RWD and LR?

From 13/1/2023 the basic LR price dropped to €53,890. I think he base RWD spec was €8k lower.

On 28/3/23 Tesla mistakenly applied end of quarter discounts (10%) to "coming soon" (actually on a boat somewhere) cars in Irish Inventory the same as they were doing in other European countries. A red LR with nice wheels was €53k.

Not sure how much the RWDs were dropped to. This was an infamous event known as "The Fire Sale". In the weeks after, Tesla hired their own Winston Wolfe to clean up the mess and cancel all these orders. There were 50 - 100 orders I think, many of them boardsies who had been alerted by fellow posters. 1 or 2 on here actually got their MY at the discounted price because it was really here and not on a boat. The CPCC followed up and investigated Tesla for the others.

There were also some discounts at the end of Q2 2023, but nothing like the fire sale. And the LRs were never low 40s, only the RWDs.

I was one of those who had my LR AWD order canceled. They didn't even offer an goodwill on cancelation

Possibly. But I recall itching to order and the price was around 40k for base Model Y. Some passionate Tesla folks PM'd me how good a deal this is and that it's almost a steal at that price.

I thought inventory / need to show sales on the books / something else drive that sale - and I guess I am wondering if that will happen again given how anti-Elon sentiment has hurt the sales across Europe. I guess I will have to just wait and see.

It would be happening now if it was going to happen there is a week left, most of the cars showing in stock now are orders that people won't take for the sake of a few days to get a 252 plate so they will be gone shortly after 30 June I'd guess

Never happened. The price briefly fell from 48K to 44K during an end of quarter sales booster, but like someone said, it was triggered around 30 days out.

Then the nominal price fell to the incredibly low value it is now. I think Juniper price rises are on the cards in 2026 personally.

The RWD dropped to €43k at the time. The Boards time machine is great for going back and reliving the excitement of those who initially 'secured' a deal, the resentment of those who missed out and the disappointment of nearly everyone who eventually got Kelly-ed.

🙅‍♂️ Not happening this time around - if true.

The car is already a steal at 46k for what you get and the model has traction now that arguably doesn't need any boosting in this tiny market.

    €45k aren't they -€44500 using a referral?👍

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 105 ✭✭bullmccabe2010

€500 off doesn’t apply to Model Y. Only the Model X and S.

That offer isn’t valid anymore. You get 1000 free supercharger miles on the referrals for the Model Y and Model 3.

Just put an order in for standard rwd model 3. On the phone guys said end of August delivery but app says July. Who to believe?

Nice one, who knows on delivery, if there's one available next week they'll be calling you

I will be happy with aug or September. Not in rush

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,647 ✭✭✭sk8board

more likely believe the person on the phone, let’s face it they know best of anyone. The App takes the earliest possible delivery time and just seems to subtract one month :)

I used a referral on a model Y and it was only the supercharger Kms. The €500 was off the X. Maybe the S too.

I dropped deposit at the NEVO event in the curragh on June 14th (Father's Day 😀) for RWD MY. Didn't do the test drive, so could get refund if I decided to give it a miss. On the day, they were offering a free home charger or granny charger for orders placed. I opted for the home charger, as it's worth over 500 quid. I'll get a code after delivery day to have that delivered. Used my loyalty credit thing giving me 1000 free supercharger kms. Walked away with a goodie bag and 5 cups.

The lads were sound up there. Promised to hold me for a 252 plate....as I'm away alot anyway .....writing this from Germany. No VIN assigned for this reason. Have to say, looking forward to delivery and as comfortable as the M3 is, its now just a bit low for my back when getting in or out. The MY makes more sense for me and mine. Goodbye to the M3 next week when the new owner will pick it up 😥.

Did you get the car yet? I only ordered a week ago and was told in stock but app says end of August too.
New orders on the website now saying August -September too.
I keep telling myself that I’m in no rush (waiting for charger to be installed too and smart meter activation) but would still want to have it now 🤣

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 250 ✭✭kris_2021

App showing 14 to 29 Aug now for delivery. Guy from tesla called last week and he said collection from Dublin might be 7-10 days quicker than from Cork so I change that to Dublin now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 523 ✭✭✭Izy

Ah, I’ve collection in Dublin and showing 19/08-03/09

Have you got a VIN assigned?

New battery packs longer range https://www.completecar.ie/car-news/article/14415/Tesla-Model-3-and-Y-upgrades

Indicator stalks are back might just put it to the top of the list for me

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 185 ✭✭KLF

Good that they’ve acknowledged the button indicators were a crazy endeavour. It was a matter of time when the Juniper had indicator stalks. Decent battery upgrades too.
