Might be a long shot, but I'm looking for a stand ticket if anyone has excess. I have one ticket, but looking for one for my young fellow. He is a bit small for the terrace. I don't think he would be able to see the match. If I had been in on time, I could have got one of the €5 juvenile tickets. However, at this stage, I think I'd just pay the full price to get him there.

In a similar wayI'm looking for a spare train ticket if anyone has one for sale.

The 13.33 train out of Cbar, not fussed about return time

Got some bizarre replies on here when I thought it was a bit odd that Connacht final last month didn't have extra/special trains. It was clearly an error by Irish rail and for this Sunday they do have extra/special trains for the Mayo v Donegal match as was the case for the match with Dublin last year and past Connacht finals in Salthill.

But the Connacht final was a game between Mayo and Galway in Castlebar.

There is no rail line going from anywhere in Co Galway directly to Castlebar.

One would have to go half way across the country to make the journey.

    This game is in Roscommon.

There is a direct rail line between multiple towns in Co Mayo to Roscommon.

Or are you arguing that there should be special trains from the likes of Ballina, Foxford, Westport, Claremorris and Ballyhaunis to Castlebar for a match day?

If you are then I need to remind you that it's 2025, not 1925

P.S I'll take your mention of Mayo v Dublin as an error, you mean Mayo v Donegal.

@Fr Tod Umptious plenty of Galway and Mayo supporters aren't living in their counties and it's normal practice with Irish Rail for 20k attendance matches to put on Athlone to Westport extra/special trains for a match in Castlebar,Roscommon or Galway City.

P.S Yes an error which has been amended

Odd situation today, it's like 95% we either top group or go out. Other outcomes only arise if Cavan win and/or we draw…

A bit like the last game of the league, win and top the group, lose and go out.

We can get a result here,

Mayo underrated while Donegal are over-rated by the media,

If Rochford pulls the rabbit out of the hat today, the job is his for keeps next year.,

    Outnumbered 2:1 at least

    Probably 3:1

So much for the Hyde being a second home ground, as some have been saying.

Mayo spend two minutes holding on to the ball, ponderous passing around the 2 point arch.

Get turned over and it takes Donegal 12 seconds to score.

    For f**k sake Mayo.

Black card for Donegal ( not sure it was merited) hopefully we can take advantage…

Standard of this match is atrocious compared to Monaghan Down and matches yesterday.

Reminds me of before new rules came in

It's going to take a huge effort from Mayo to win this form 3 down at HT.

Donegal had a rake of wides so should be well ahead.

They really need to up the pace of the game.

Personally speaking, I don't think they can.

They look very lethargic out there.

Back to ponderous lateral play I see. Not only will they nor shoot from scoring positions, but the lack of pace in the forwards is shocking. Carney very sloppy on the ball. Backs keeping us in it at the moment.

    Always going backwards. Infuriating.

Tyrone looking comfortable so it’s almost certainly win (or draw) or bust for us…

Correct.. same auld crap nobody willing to take a shot unless they are unmarked and 10 yards out.

For fork sake why do you pas to a player in a worse position.

Donegal concede a goal and well deserved …..watch for the pulling and dragging from now on.

Donegal hit back with incredible 2-pointer😕

We just take too long to score.

Overall I don't think Mayo deserve anything else.

They are just not at the quality needed these days.

If you get hammered by Cavan at home you deserve to go out to a buzzer beater a few weeks later.

New management and a new approach now is what is needed.

And they need to play smarter, twice in a row they have had their season destroyed by not managing the very last kick out of the game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34 Arkiema

ironically if we just took a little longer to score that last point we'd be in the draw.

    Sickened.

It's on players as well. Lots and lots of points in that game when fellas were in scoring positions and visibly afraid to shoot. That's a skill issue. So too is sloppy hand passing and allowing fellas to waltz up the pitch with not a glove laid on them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,097 ✭✭✭✭Loafing Oaf

yeah mayo goal really skewed the scoreboard there, Donegal clearly better team over the 70…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,385 ✭✭✭Westernview

Great effort but ultimately we are lacking the quality needed at this level. But Boland should have been on sooner.

New management will be installed and some younger players will have to be blooded. Another 3 year term beckons.
