Couldn’t listen to the absolute clowns on that yerman Rory O Neill don’t even know he is and the gobsheen Shane McGrath all they want to hear is the sound of their own voices.

Rory O'Neill has to be the worst pundit out there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,498 ✭✭✭Mastermcgrath

He’s terrible. you’d wonder who does he know in RTE,

Aren't we guaranteed to still be in the Championship going into the Cork game ?

Obviously morale could be wrong bottom in that scenario if going in on 2 defeats

Would it have been that hard for Aisling Thompson or someone else in Cork Camogie to ring up one of the Waterford players and agree a joint approach as opposed to announcing this unilaterally.

I'm sure the Waterford women feel the same way as their Cork counterparts ... maybe I'm wrong but it smacks to me of someone trying to grab a headline.

    https://www.rte.ie/news/2025/0507/1511557-skort-rule-camogie/

Cork camogie player Ashling Thompson has said Cork will wear shorts in Saturday's Munster senior camogie final and if they are asked to change to skorts, they will refuse to do so, even if it risks the game being abandoned.

"If that means abandoning the game and handing over the Munster title to Waterford, that’s what we’ll do."

"We’re just hoping that Waterford will follow suit. It’s not about us versus the association. It’s standing up for what’s right," she added

I just saw the great Peter power passed away today. A great hurling man who had a big influence on lots of kids from his many visits to the schools around the county. Had a a lovely way about him. I think he was part of the setup for that historic under 21 win in 92. Rip to a gent

Peter Power was one of these great characters that brought an energy everywhere he went

It won't be easy next week anyway but Tipp losing today would probably be the better result for us? They'd have nothing left to play for other than pride going into their last game.

No because it would mean 4 points doesn't guarantee anything.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 304 ✭✭spideyman92

All to play for next week so. A must win game to qualify out of Munster.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,915 ✭✭✭914

I hate the talk of, what result do we want, fact of the matter is. Before today's game and after today's game, qualification is in our own hands.

If we want to ensure qualification we have to win in Thrurles, it's as simple as that.

I'm not saying we will, but it's in our own hands

It's in our hands, tough ask but a win and we are through with a shot at a Munster final.

The way things have panned out we probably would've needed to get something against Tipp in Thurles even if we bet Limerick last week to be sure of qualifying before going away to Cork.

We would've took this position before the start of the championship. What a huge game it now is in Thurles next week. Important we travel in numbers and get behind the lads.

In our own hands and could be a fiery game next Sunday

We could potentially be in a knockout game against Cork too if results align. Even better if we're through and it's a playoff for a Munster final

    Take down Tipp now

Huge game next week now. Real knockout hurling. Judging by 1st 2 weekends waterford should have a advantage with the week off.

Apart from the 1st 20 minutes I thought tipp were quite ordinary from midfield up although they'll have mccarthy back next week. That break could work out well for him because the chap was getting flogged with 20s and seniors.

Their backs have impressed all year. Physical, fast and tigerish. Think waterford have better forwards though.

Limerick, Tipp & Cork favs to go through now but if we can win either game against Tipp or Cork would likely put us through..a nightmare scenario would we lose to Tipp, Cork beat Limerick, then we beat Cork but Limerick also beat Clare, then those 3 are tied on 5 points and we're left out of the championship on 4 points 🤮

Didn't realise limerick have two team in the championship..according to your post ..???

The pedantic police are out at this unmerciful hour i see

the only permutation we need to worry about is beating Tipp. If we don’t, we’re doomed, plain and simple. We seen it last year in the final game against Limerick in the Gaelic Grounds or Cahills last game against Clare in Ennis, if you don’t do the business whenthe matter is on your own hands its not going to happen in the final game. This championship is cut throat

I think Tipp are favourites going into this game now, home advantage, Darragh McCarthy back and they seem to be motoring well under Cahill this year and he’s really made a team out of them.
On the flip side I beleive Queally has us in a good place, we won’t mind going to Thurles and there’s a big performance in us after the frustration of the Limerick game and having to deal with a 6 day turnaround. We are more than capable of taking this Tipp team but cannot afford any kind of an off day. We need to bring it and needs to be at least as good as we were against Clare. Otherwise it’s another year of disappointment

From what I've seen as an outsider over the last two games - Waterford back line shouldn't crumble the way Clare's did in the first half against Tipp.

Waterford team won't fear this Tipp team and the home advantage isn't the same for Tipp.

How much of a crowd will Waterford bring to Thurles? Will need a good crowd considering the mangnitude of the game and a strong Tipp turnout expected now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 197 ✭✭deise man

Was thinking the same. Our support hasn't been great for the past 5 to 10 years. Hope we get a good crowd travelling
