    Thanks for the heads-up on Smyth's. Got my Mario Kart bundle ordered!

    Also, if anyone was underwhelmed by any of the gameplay footage in the live Direct, it's definitely worth checking out the individual videos that have now gone up on YouTube in 4k. Donkey Kong in particular looks stunning!

    Pre-ordered as well with Mario Kart. Also that's great news the switch 1 pro controller will work on the switch 2.

    I have to say, I was gob smacked with the price of the games for S2.

    Does anyone know if the Zelda BOTW switch 2 edition will be available at launch? I don’t think they clarified that? Never played it so it’ll be an added bonus.

    Sorry for silly question. I've never played the switch before. Do I need to get an additional joycon if I just want to play 2 player mario cart on the switch 2?

    You can use one Joycon each to play 2 player. It was very fiddly with the Switch 1 because of the size of the Joycons but doable. I’d pick up an extra set it it’s going to be a regular thing but one does in a pinch.

    There’s also going to be Treehouse sessions on Thursday and Friday on YouTube showing more gameplay so could be worth checking them out to see more in depth gameplay.

    They be getting the most with GameStop and Game gone there really only place to buy from except from Harvey Norman and curry's.

    The price will scare most casual gamer to buy it. They wait for price drop or better bundles.

    online home delivery preorder are still available they usually have good amount.

    I getting click and collect hate the waiting on home delivery glad the pro controller work on switch 2.

    I can't remember which launch it happened with but didn't smyths take too many pre orders and ended up only honoring the home delivery ones?

    Might have been the ps5, I just remember feeling sorry for the staff behind the counters who had to deal with it.

    Could be wrong but think it was Gamestop who messed up the PS5 preorders. I got mine through Smyths and they were excellent

    Those upgrade packs for BOTW and TOTK are apparently 1000 yen which is about €6. I'd imagine we'll be paying €10 here though at least.

    Search for Nintendo switch 2 and the top result is a link to ask for an invite to preorder. If / when you get an invite link you have 22 hours to preorder it

    Yes, the consensus seems to be that they'll be a tenner to upgrade for us. It is free if you have NSO+ though by the looks of it.

    Yea that's a crazy decision. Even €5 is to much for something to show off your new console. Could have been a nice little add in game but nope that'dake to much sense.

    The Mario Kart bundle is back in stock on smyths website.

    I don't think the initial sales are going to be huge due to a number of factors.

    1.Scalpers will be hesitant to buy at that price knowing there will be very little profit if any especially as it is not close to Christmas and parents will not be deparate.

    2.Again the soccer moms will be confused by the naming just like the Wii U they will think it's an attachment or accessorie to the original switch.

    3. Most kids have moved to roblox including my own who now never touch the original switch anymore. Roblox on switch would be massive but not gonna happen.

    4.Nintendo also stated a few times that launch consoles would be mass produced so as not to allow massive scalping. This may contribute to the reason the stock is still available.

    5.I think the fact people here who are obviously enthusiasts have a big problem with pricing especially with the games will also scare off the general public.

    6.The fact it is still available to pre order on smyths says it all really.

    Nintendo is one of my favorite console makers and I have already pre ordered 2 switches for the family but there is no way this will be nearly as big a launch or success as the original switch at least in the first year or two anyway.
