ordered identical items from amazon UK and amazon ie - needed multiple number and free delivery both sites.

Ordered last Friday 6pm. Amazon UK delivery arrived today. Amazon Ireland delivery scheduled for April 7th. Price was much the same. Amazon ie item said "in stock and sold by amazon"

So failure on faster delivery.

Anyone tried returning to amazon.ie?
Normally when I use the An Post Labels to Amazon.co.uk, I get refund processed within hours.
Been waiting several days now on an Amazon.ie one.

@Blisterman I’m having the same experience with Amazon.co.uk which I’m also returning with an AnPost label. Normally get a refund once the label is scanned but so far the parcel has not been delivered although it’s moving through the An Post system for a couple of weeks now.

Yep. I returned something yesterday to IE and a few hours after it was scanned in the post office I got a refund confirmation email. The tracking has not updated since for some reason.

Btw I tried a few options that wanted me to pay 8 euro postage and "Incompatible or not useful for intended purpose" got me free postage.

Ah crap. I actually placed an order on the .co.uk site because none of the items I wanted were part of the offer!

You can order from any amazon .co.uk/.com/.de etc and the will include the customs/vat/duties in the total price they quote you. Example from an old US order that I came across quickly.

If they are not charging you for it, lookout for it. Probably doesn't apply to .ie as included in purchase price as amazon is importing from the uk and not you.

And if you are really lucky they refund you the taxes paid a couple of months later. I bought a pair of earphones last October and I got back the £39 tax a few weeks ago.

In my Amazon UK account wishlist I have a bunch of books (physical books, not ebooks) that have not been released yet (pre-orders) (I tend to wait til they're close to releasing before ordering them).

However I noticed for the same books in the Irish site all of them are showing up as Not Available (with no prices showing). Even for the most recent which will be published on the 24th April.

Is it not possible to pre-order books from the Irish site? Or do I have to wait til they're published? I was trying to compare prices but it seems I'll stick to ordering them from the UK.

Amazon.ie seem dead set on p!ssing me off. I bothered to write some reviews. All good 5 star, genuine, helpful, reviews that gave information that wasn't included in the listing. All were rejected with the std email. All conform to community guidelines including the fact I'd spent more than €50 in the last year - hadn't seen that item before.

Anyone else having reviews turned down?

I've a good mind to write a really crappy review and see how that fairs, but not fair on the product.

Outside of Ireland the advantage is you could end up being invited to be part of the Vine program. Irish users can't be included atm.

My latest order got split into 12 (not kidding) different shipments from 5 different countries with up to 10 days delivery time!
