Was it sold by and dispatched from AmazonIE or AmazonUK. If it was a third party then they may not do the customs bit like Amazon directly do. don't know if this is your one, but just as an example.

Have to ask the obvious question was this fulfilled by Amazon or sold by a market place seller?

Ya it was the livemore one. Never noticed that before now. I won't be buying at close to 260 all in.

Thats mad. Complain to Amazon. If it was sold on Amazon.IE then there should be no added taxes. The fault is Amazons for allowing the item to be sold on Amazon.IE.

This is a question for the Android experts.

I have 2 Amazon apps installed on my phone,

One is signed into UK, the other IE.

I used the Island app from the play store to install the second one to my work profile.

All links will open in the 1st Amazon app (non work profile) and will ask to change the country for the likes of .IE .DE etc..

I was wondering if there's a way of editing the "Verified Links" in "Open By Default" in App Settings in Android?

Only certain apps allow you to change the links and add your own, YouTube is one of them.

Just wondering if there's one sort of hack for it.

I searched on Google for a solution and a reddit thread mentioned Better Open With, using it as the default browser, but there's no way of selecting the Amazon app in the work profile to open.

For now I can just set both apps to open links in the browser, add something to my basket and complete the checkout process in the app.

    Its not ideal though.

For me, it is a terrible experience from Amazon Ireland team. Just sharing my ordeal with them. Only had good experience with Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de etc.

Issue still not sorted. Please beware when purchasing high value items from Amazon.ie

    Any advice?

    Reply received this morning.

Thank you for your messageIf goods are being delivered from outside the EU, they are subject to Customs Duty.Kind regardsLiveMoor

There was no mention of this when I purchased and it was the last thing I expected from amazon.ie being in Ireland.

Possibly the worst execution of a business model ever.

I've yet to find someone that has had a better experience with .ie than .co.uk or .de

Delivery seems to be quicker buying from .co.uk, choice of goods is WAY better on any other amazon site, prices seems to be better on .co.uk or .de and customer service seems to be better too.

Certainly, if you are an Irish retailer, you've little to be concerned about if you think .ie is going to give you competition. But likewise if you are a local supplier and selling on amazon.ie, don't expect a big jump in sales

If that's Amazon's final word on it, then that is seriously poor.

It's the 3rd part sellers word. It was bought from, and dispatched by someone based out of Devon just using the Amazon platform.

Escalate that. Contact them again and tell them you aren't satisfied with a curt reply like that. You bought from Amazon.ie because you are in Ireland. ffs Amazon are promoting .IE and trying to get users in Ireland of .CO.UK Prime to move over to .IE.

If you have to burn the seller. They shouldn't be advertising on Amazon.ie if they don't inform you there will be additional charges.

Wake me up when it's all over.

Appreciate those using .ie working out the issues. Paddy getting a half job as usual.

Did everyone not get an email from Amazon 2 days ago with a link to a survey to give feedback on the Amazon.ie website..

"We would value your feedback in order to provide you with the best possible experience. To better understand your thoughts and preferences, we are conducting a short survey. The survey will take less than 3 minutes to complete."

Nope, and not in spam either. Maybe it was just Irish Prime accounts?

I have an Irish prime account and didn't get one. So must be just a sampling of users.

No I don't have Prime with any of the Amazon sites

Well I hope anyone who received the survey gave them both barrels.

Have an annual prime UK subscription. If I take up the IE prime trial, will I get the annual prime UK payment refunded, and can I then move back to UK after a month?

This is exactly what i did in April, i waited until just before my yearly prime ended on .co.uk and transferred to .ie. Once i got my Prime refund i signed up for prime Uk again for a year. You still have your account on .co.uk as normal. Hoping nothing has changed since April.
