Finally happened. Wonder will we still get same bargains as UK site??
Firefox has Relay, that has that stuff too.
Can be handy if you need to sign up for something without giving them your email!
cough cough :D
https://relay.firefox.com/
ordered identical items from amazon UK and amazon ie - needed multiple number and free delivery both sites.
Ordered last Friday 6pm. Amazon UK delivery arrived today. Amazon Ireland delivery scheduled for April 7th. Price was much the same. Amazon ie item said "in stock and sold by amazon"
So failure on faster delivery.
dont be surprised if it arrives early. i had an order scheduled for delivery tomorrow that arrived sunday.
Amazon IE order scheduled 03/04, arrived 01/04
It Looks like they are deliberately giving long delivery dates until they have their processes fine-tuned. Better to deliver early than late.
still not dispathed
Ordered a few shower gels (very good price compared to the UK site) as part of a larger delivery that was covered by 1st order free on Amazon IE. Everything arrived quicker than the expected dates, except the shower gels which seemingly came from Germany, as all the writing on the bottles is in German.
Anyone tried returning to amazon.ie? Normally when I use the An Post Labels to Amazon.co.uk, I get refund processed within hours. Been waiting several days now on an Amazon.ie one.
Does anyone know how long the €10 off €50 offer will be available? I haven't been able to find enough things to fill my basket yet.
@Blisterman I’m having the same experience with Amazon.co.uk which I’m also returning with an AnPost label. Normally get a refund once the label is scanned but so far the parcel has not been delivered although it’s moving through the An Post system for a couple of weeks now.
Easter is around the corner, have you thought of filling up your basket with an egg or two?

Or stock up on some coffee/tea?

Just suggestions?
https://www.amazon.ie/dp/B079KKHVZ5?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title My favourite spaghetti brand, and it's half the price of shops in Ireland.
Those eggs can be got at 3 or 4 for a fiver in the supermarkets.
Yep. I returned something yesterday to IE and a few hours after it was scanned in the post office I got a refund confirmation email. The tracking has not updated since for some reason.
Btw I tried a few options that wanted me to pay 8 euro postage and "Incompatible or not useful for intended purpose" got me free postage.
Ended on Monday.
Ah crap. I actually placed an order on the .co.uk site because none of the items I wanted were part of the offer!
can i order stuff from amazon .co.uk worth more than 150 euro and they sort out the import tax? Or .ie that says its coming from amazon .co.uk
You can order from any amazon .co.uk/.com/.de etc and the will include the customs/vat/duties in the total price they quote you. Example from an old US order that I came across quickly.
If they are not charging you for it, lookout for it. Probably doesn't apply to .ie as included in purchase price as amazon is importing from the uk and not you.
This was only an issue for a couple of weeks after Brexit. The price you pay at Checkout includes Customs and Duties.
And if you are really lucky they refund you the taxes paid a couple of months later. I bought a pair of earphones last October and I got back the £39 tax a few weeks ago.
A new peeve about Amazon.ie is that the "Today's Deals" don't give you any idea of how much the reduction is. All you get is "Limited time deal" and the price.
OK so legally perhaps they have to do this as the items haven't been for sale on Amazon.ie for the prerequisite time to make that claim but that hasn't stopped Amazon in the past making ridicules claims about price reductions for prices that they have never had items for sale at.
Edit> Also notice they have dropped the percentage claimed details, possibly because they show that nobody is buying any of their deals?
In my Amazon UK account wishlist I have a bunch of books (physical books, not ebooks) that have not been released yet (pre-orders) (I tend to wait til they're close to releasing before ordering them).
However I noticed for the same books in the Irish site all of them are showing up as Not Available (with no prices showing). Even for the most recent which will be published on the 24th April.
Is it not possible to pre-order books from the Irish site? Or do I have to wait til they're published? I was trying to compare prices but it seems I'll stick to ordering them from the UK.
With the IE Prime free trial ending this week, I reckon there'll be a mass exodus back to UK Prime. The service on the IE is just not there yet.
Amazon.ie seem dead set on p!ssing me off. I bothered to write some reviews. All good 5 star, genuine, helpful, reviews that gave information that wasn't included in the listing. All were rejected with the std email. All conform to community guidelines including the fact I'd spent more than €50 in the last year - hadn't seen that item before.
Anyone else having reviews turned down?
Yeah,me too. My most enthusiasticly positive review ever, was turned down. "Not adhering to community standards" Big PIA🐌
I've a good mind to write a really crappy review and see how that fairs, but not fair on the product.
Edit> I'd also add similar reviews on .co.uk had gained loads of thanks I suspect because they included useful info not included in the listing.
Is there any advantage of leaving reviews, beyond the obvious wanting to leave good feedback / warn others?
Outside of Ireland the advantage is you could end up being invited to be part of the Vine program. Irish users can't be included atm.
I didn't even know that was a thing. I imagine you need to be a prolific purchaser of items to even be eligible!
My latest order got split into 12 (not kidding) different shipments from 5 different countries with up to 10 days delivery time!
Gonna love Amazon.ie
Once my irish prime membership is run out, I go back to co.uk, this is no fun.
