Nvidia has officially confirmed their UK MSRPs for their upcoming GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards. Nvidia’s RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 will be available on January 30th, and Nvidia’s RTX 5070 series GPUs will launch later this quarter.

Below are the UK MSRPs of Nvidia’s newest GeForce RTX GPUs:

    RTX 5090 32GB – £1,939
    RTX 5080 16GB – £979
    RTX 5070 Ti 16GB – £729
    RTX 5070 12GB – £539

Removing post. The euro prices were posted earlier in the thread, so no need to duplicate

Aye the ability to blow unobstructed through the entire fin-stack like that is something they should try to adopt as standard. It's part of the reason AIOs are becoming more common on high end cards, I went that way last generation and won't go back.

Is it practical to do so without having the PCB oriented to be on the short-side of the card? It's that orientation that somewhat forces the width to be what it is, and the width in turn has a major impact on surface area for heat dissipation. Looks like the went a different direction entirely for the 5090 with the huge vapor chamber. Will be very interesting to see the temps for the 5090 across all of the FE/AIB variants.

I doubt it's practical or feasible to produce on a large scale and it's likely why that 4 slot 4090 cooler never went into production. The width of the card is huge and that is despite the PCB being compacted and compressed down far more than normal to allow it to be mounted in a different orientation. That likely drove up production costs alone. You'd imagine the compression of the PCB also resulted in cooling challenges that could have negated any benefit of having an unobstructed fin stack. I doubt we will see the design reappear any time soon.

Re. the compression negating the benefit, that was one of the key takeaways from the video on GN. The orientation made an enormous difference. As @K.O.Kiki mentioned in the video, the results were incredible:

The thermal results are amazing, 20-30C cooler than 4090 FE!

The bigger question here IMHO is what the benefit is of having those much lower temps? The heat is still generated regardless, but is just dissipated faster. Those chips will run happily at the higher temps, so it seems like the cooler would only be suitable where the ambient temp is so high, you need to remove heat as quickly as possible. It's a great video if you have time to watch it through. He did mentioned he was going to be speaking to the Nvidia thermal engineer they had on before and he was going to try and get some answers about the board.

Running cooler means it can run at higher power - higher voltages and higher clocks.

RTX 5090 FE did seem to take some ideas from the 4090 Ti prototype.

The main PCB is connected to the motherboard via a mini-riser, and both fans thus have unobstructed airflow to blow through.

I'm interested in seeing the effect on the CPU temps.

I was thinking of downgrading actually.

My values have changed, and having a nice cool room instead of a sauna is becoming a priority.

My room is small enough and the bloody heat from the PC makes it almost impossible to game in the summer.

That's actually really interesting, I had missed that. So the PCB is in the middle of the card and the two fans are either side of it with unobstructed airflow over the fin-stack?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,968 ✭✭✭✭K.O.Kiki

Yup. Now, it should be noted that the 5090 FE is rated to 90C while 5080 is 88C; but it will likely not hit that unless there's poor airflow.

Looking forward to third party reviews. Currently running a 6900XT interested to see how much of an upgrade a 5070Ti would be.

AMD's offerings are even more disappointing than I expected. If the the 9070XT is actually slower than the 7900XTX, they're going to have to undercut the 5070 in price to even stand a chance of making some headway. They're so far behind at this point it's difficult to see how they can turn things around.

What were they even thinking? At least if they'd offered 7900XTX beating performance with 24GB of ram they'd have something worth buying.

Less a case of thinking, more a case of couldn't achieve the performance.

If they drop prices meaningfully and can get decent volume that's better. Allowing the graphics market to continue with massive price increases for small performance gains covered up with fake improvements like upscaling and frame generation is ultimately bad for everyone.

To be fair they're not aiming for the high end and FSR4 looks be a huge upgrade. Some leaked benchmarks have it beating the 4080 Super in raster but falling behind in ray tracing, if its priced well I don't see why it wouldn't be a good option.

Still no sign of any real indicative pricing for the AIP cards on the placeholder pages on websites. I'd imagine pre-orders will start this week, so might know more soon?

Looks like the 4090 has transcended generations and bridged the grand canyon of a gap between the 5080 and 5090.

Makes great business sense as they'll maintain their unstoppable 4090 sales train.

According to overclockers their preorders are starting on the 30th @2pm

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,132 ✭✭✭game4it70

They are only accepting UK residents for them.

Yeah I'll hopefully be trying my luck with caseking. Aib cards are looking expensive

Bear in mind that those are Finnish prices, where VAT is a whole 2.5% higher than here in Ireland. So you can safely take another €20-50 off those prices for us.... Bargain!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,604 ✭✭✭Slutmonkey57b

Bear in mind, it's basically impossible for an AIB partner to match the MSRP, because nvidia aren't charging themselves a profit margin on the gpu. Nvidia are making you believe that their partners are "expensive" when it's really their own predatory behaviour on multiple fronts that makes it that way. That's why EVGA got out of the game....

Looking forward to real world benchmarks of all the new upcoming GPU`s although i might stick to my 7800X3D/4070 combo as it throw out superb frames for 1440P gaming on everything including the latest most demanding titles.

I have no interest in 4k.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,045 ✭✭✭KilOit

when do you think the first benchmarks will come out? tried to build new system then realised the cpu 9800x3d can't be gotten anyway

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,189 ✭✭✭ironictoaster

I think embargo lifts on the 24th

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 537 ✭✭✭Coyler

29th for cards launching at MSRP and 30th for non-MSRP cards (overclocked, custom cooling etc.)

And 5080 prices from the same source. I really hope they are just place holder prices

If AMD want to capture market share this be best time with nivida high prices let hope Rtx 5070 and Rtx 5070Ti are not going to be in short supply like 5080 and 5090.
