Its the same team that made Gris.

Yeah i saw it mentioned in a review and whilst I think I heard of it at the time of release, it flew by me. It's only €3 on the PS store at the moment so have taken a punt on it too!

Gris was added to playstation plus today too.

It's a bit of a fur coat, no knickers game. Looks great but not much depth. Hoping they've grown since and Neva is a better game.

Gris is a short game, and cheap, so it gets a pass. Doesn't really waste your time.

I watched a few mins of the game and thought it looked alright.

Definitely worth a play. Just looks like a better game which is weird to say.

Anyone preorder the new Life Is Strange game? It's out in 2 weeks but if you preorder, the first 2 chapters are available today. Really don't like that practice. 'strange' for a narratively focused game to play a bit and then wait 2 weeks to play the rest when it's not in episodic content. I still want to play it though but can definitely wait.

I have no idea how anyone can play those games. I played the first up until the friend is in a wheel chair absolute garbage of a game if I could even call it a game. If the others are the same as the first I have no idea how they are so popular and that this many LIS games were made.

Started it today, it actually suited perfectly as I've a head cold and anything that requires much thinking was off the table. Found this was quite soothing.

Also played an hour or two of return to monkey island before it as it dropped on ps plus too. Not sure what I think of it yet.

I pre ordered a physical copy for my Series X so I hopefully will be playing it on release.

Subnautica 2 early access releasing 2025!!! Probably be a year in that before it gets to PlayStation then on full release. As much as i want to play it early, probably better waiting for the full game.

I'm not a fan of co-op though, hope it can be all done solo.

This looks interesting and hasn’t been on my radar at all. Turn based RPG with real time actions, looks stunning and has a pretty stacked voice cast. Looks sort of like what I would hope a modern Final Fantasy would be. Weirdly it’s being priced below what would be expected with $50 preorders going up instead of the usual $70, so maybe it’s a shorter game than it looks.

Regardless, one to keep an eye on.

"Would you like some information about a game you downloaded for a day and uninstalled from 10 years ago?"

The PS5 news tab on the home screen. At least that's how it is for me.

Nah for me it's "would you like to know what someone you were briefly acquainted with but haven't spoken to in 10 years is spending most of their time playing this week?"

I know if you add a game to your library from Plus, they give you updates. I've unfollowed every game.

God of War tv series is back to the drawing board. One would wonder the reason considering the submitted scripts by the now gone EPs were considered good. Personally I thought starting in the Norse arc was a bad idea and his Greek arc needs to be done first, otherwise people not familiar with the series wouldn't fully get his anger issues.

I think you could pretty easily just do a flashback episode about his Greek past. It wasn't exactly a hugely complex character arc, and if you take out Atreus and Mimir it'd just be a season of Kratos meeting a different God each episode, shouting at them to get out of his way or he'll kill them because he wants revenge, and then a fight. You could easily tie it in before or during Kratos' journey back to get the Blades of Chaos after Atreus gets sick.

So much of Kratos' Greek saga is superfluous in the Norse games, usually just used as a throwaway reference while sailing around on the boat.

The Greek God of War games have no interest in being anything other than big, dumb video games so aren’t particularly suited to TV adaptation.

The Norse God of War games really, desperately want to be prestige television, so are much better suited to TV adaptation.

Just finished Gris. Very nice and quick game, very relaxing, looks and sounds great, it's not tasking and is only 3 hours long.

But there is very little to do in it beyond some light puzzle platforming. The last few sections do step it up (the upside down stuff) so hopefully there is potential to do more with their next game.

If you have a OLED it's an amazing game to demo the TV. Loads of deep blacks on screen.

Could be they have seen the criticism Rings of Power received and the acclaim Fallout got and wondering what's the magic formula there

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,674 ✭✭✭recyclops

I think the formula is these big Sony games so desperately want to be viewed as something more serious than they are and fallout took a premise and made a great TV show.

If you stick to majority of Sony games yer screwed (tlou excluded) you have a fairly linear generic bland game/story

Getting the feeling God of War is going to be a complete trash fire with the issues it's going through.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,770 ✭✭✭✭Potential-Monke

They somehow managed to make a story for a Mario movie, so anything is possible!

But im with Retro here, it's gonna be a dumpster fire. Now, maybe that's the way it was headed and this is a good sign that it's being rebooted.... doubtful, but one can hope.

Unknown 9: Awakening seems to be yet another expensive learning experience on what people who pay for videogames actually want. Well, maybe this time someone will learn something.

Played the Tekken 8 Story DLC expansion. Said I might as well considering I'd already bought the season pass. Made the mistake then of jumping back into a few unranked online matches.

Presumed I'd be slaughtered having not played for a few months, but was still able to hold my own and get a few wins (including from someone who intentionally disconnected just before I won. Nice to see some things haven't changed). Definitely forgot a lot of my moves and muscle memory though.

Still though, can't allow myself to get sucked back in. Souls games are more relaxing than playing Tekken online...
