Well that bouncing comment, given the suspension glitch, aged like milk. However I took the McLaren F1 road car around the nordschleife, against sophy, in vr, at night, with all the hud turned off, I highly recommend you give it a go if you've both the psvr2 and Macca, stunning

Finding it difficult to get comfortable with the new physics. Took the Gallardo out, think it comes with Sport Hard, and it just understeers like crazy and braking without ABS in particular is very unforgiving with locking up, but the grip is there for the acceleration. Normally if the understeer or brakes locking up was that bad, it wouldn't have grip for acceleration either.

Same with the KTM X-bow which usually handles well. My RX8 handles like an absolute track weapon, it's one of the only cars where I notice it has really good turn in on top of just handling really well in general. If that fails me, then I know it's a case of going back to basics and relearning everything!

I had to buy the Impreza:

Funny, I took the Gallardo out without knowing about the physics update and I thought she was welded to the road. Accelerate to grip kinda job! Well impressed with it and all assists off. Cars do feel a bit more floaty, but I like it. I did buy it second hand, if that makes any difference. Stupid head thought if they're in second hand they can't be in new…

Now if only they'd improve the AI so it didn't stick to it's driving line even if you're in it…

That's the funny thing, dirt racing is a huge improvement. Cars have a really nice weight to them and you can get around a corner without powersliding, I often found I had to really drop the throttle to get through turns on dirt if I didn't want to powerslide as it would just slow me down. Great improvement there.

I'm going to step down and try a few 400-500p races to get a feel for things. I've had snap oversteer a few times too so I just need to get used to a feathering things a bit more until I get a feel for it.

The default set up for the lambo is too low, raise it up a bit and it should handle better. As for ABS, I wouldn't be taking that off at all except for immersion in cars that didn't have it as standard. Gave the rx8 a go there and it's a lot more improved and far closer to how it drives in real life (owned one for 4 years and I still miss it)

Still waiting for a car I owned to show up. Nothing so far… closest is the ST Focus that's the same shape as my mams 1.0 version! Really hope they throw in an 8th gen Galant at some stage.

I hate the Group B races in the weekly challenges 🤬

You're not the only one. Either I'm really bad at them or... those friggin hairpins!!!

We should maybe practice and do a few races on them until we get the hang of it ;)

I think I'm getting better at Eiger Nordwand and got 4th in last weeks Reverse circuit with a Lancer Evo Gr.B car. Still it requires so much concentration; much more than the first time I did Tokyo Express when switched to manual gears.

I did tune as well my Celica GrB as well; but it doesn't make the cut… it needs more power; but the trick that does it for me is the torque balance to 50:50

My mental Audi made short work of that race. After trying a good few times with the Evo X Final, then the 205, I decided to give big Betty a spin and she minced through the competition. Not the cleanest of races, and those hairpins have all the paint from my front bumper on them, but I won and that's all that matters.

It would be great if there was a track creator where you race on the tracks you design.

That new skyline is a lump of a yoke

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,979 ✭✭✭✭Jordan 199

I don't have any interest in the new vehicles.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,020 ✭✭✭✭duploelabs

Well the skyline is in the time trail, so if you can get on board with it then it's easy money

I could say something about the van, but it's probably not culturally appropriate.

    This too shall pass.

It's too new for that, needs to be a early 2000s with faded red paint like the one scouting around the business park where I work yesterday :D

Yeah, the only thing that might be worth it … is the extra menu on it… or not? yeah, I could've waited more and get some different models or maybe I'm asking too much if I want to see more Volvo/Skoda cars. Maybe I'm aiming too high.

    Bit disappointed with the update.

I scored two more bronze medals in the online time trials.

I have a total of eighteen bronze medals and one silver medal.

Time trials are always hit and miss for me so I haven't done many lately. Hopped on after work the other night, threw down a bunch of invalid laps in the MX5 and managed to get bronze at 7% and 5.5% in the Alfa without cutting the corners. Not too bad, tired after work and didn't really put much effort in. Just tried to get two clean laps haha. If I gave it a good go, 10+ laps getting comfortable with the track I'd probably manage silver for both.

Found the GTR to handle like a boat though. Not a big fan of them and we definitely didn't need another one. Likewise we didn't need another Evo, I'd rather a hawk eye Impreza or an GC8 Impreza wagon (not that we need any more of those either!) Don't think I managed a clean lap on that one yet.

    Are we racing this evening?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,979 ✭✭✭✭Jordan 199

    I won't be as I currently don't have a PS+ subscription.

You can always use this thread to see if anyone else wants to join.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 494 ✭✭chonix

I currently have no ps+ sub and can race online. Can you validate that for me? (100% sure I don't have any sub)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,979 ✭✭✭✭Jordan 199

I will check later on if I can setup a private lobby without PS+.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,979 ✭✭✭✭Jordan 199

So have any of you ever got gold medals in the online time trials?
