I was thinking for the next races we drive more powerful cars like a Toyota Supra (with all drivers driving the same model) and taking them to the Nordschleife. 1 lap there is a small 20.830 km's.

If there's one we've all got the base model of that would be ideal, that hasn't been souped up. Maybe one earned through the Menu campaign?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,287 ✭✭✭✭Jordan 199

Or something that can be purchased in the showroom so everyone can access it.

I'll take a look at what cars we can get in the showroom for the next meet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,969 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Just not crazy money but something that will be powerful straight from the base. Supra is a good shout.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,287 ✭✭✭✭Jordan 199

I was looking at the following:

    Toyota GR86 RZ 2021 - 482.73 PP. 33,500 Cr.

    Mazda RX-8 Spirit R - 487.45 PP. 32,500 Cr.

Hyundai Genesis Coupe - 503.94 PP. 33,000 Cr.

Toyota GR Supra RZ 2019 - 535.74 PP. 70,00 Cr.

    Nissan Z Performance 2023 - 536.87 PP. 69,660 Cr.

All the above are front engined, rear wheel drive and are available in Brand Central.

I have the Hyundai Coupe and it's a belter, have it tuned to the gills though. BMW M3 could be a good shout as well.

Ah, I’ve spent the last two hours doing up my Clio (visually, not mechanically) and ye’re on about using faster cars? 😰

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,969 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Ha, just a selection of cars to keep things interesting, will definitely keep the clios in the loop.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,532 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

    I’ve named it “The Abomination”.

Its up in Showcase if anyone wants to know how it earned that title.

Is there a list of PSN IDs?

Feel free to add me, steoc4

I generally can't commit to a specific schedule between work and parenting but hopefully I'll be able to join a race some time. Is there a certain spec Clio I should have at the ready should the stars align?

I will be setting up a race on Wednesday from around 9PM. We will continue on with the Clio's as most have one. If you don't have it, it's the 2016 Renault Clio RS 220 Trophy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,677 ✭✭✭JimBurnley

I can't make Wednesday this week but will try join the next one

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,969 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,287 ✭✭✭✭Jordan 199

If we can't have a race tomorrow, the weekend would be great, something like we had last Sunday.

Hopefully we will have more drivers on the grid too.

Could be on tonight for an hour after the Liverpool match if anyone is around.

I just had the three easiest victories I will ever have.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,532 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

And I’ll always double check that my ABS is on before a race from now on! 😂

Some fun races anyway, that track with a few more of us on would be carnage I’d say.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,287 ✭✭✭✭Jordan 199

I see karts are 10,000 credits. (I bought ten of them last night to pop a trophy) .

Perhaps we can race them sometime at a short track.

Bought one last night and tried it on Brands Hatch - much faster than my Clio anyway, great fun they are.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,414 ✭✭✭✭flazio

Lake Maggoria has a couple of new layouts with new pit lanes that look like they were built for karting.

    This too shall pass.

Might switch to karts for a bit of a change.

I'll be on about 9 to 9.30 tonight for some racing. You will be needing karts for tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,287 ✭✭✭✭Jordan 199

I have a room called Engine Misfire setup.

You will need to own a kart to enter.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,677 ✭✭✭JimBurnley

Thanks to Jim, Marty, Darc and Deaf for showing up.

The kart races were the best.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,969 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

I couldn't make it on tonight but going by the psn chat, sounded like a right laugh, looking forward to giving it a lash with ye

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,969 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

So now that ye've had a few sessions online, what are ye finding is the best way to pick cars? Do ye specific cars aside or just use the bop option to bring them all back to base spec like if you have a car you like, you can tune it for the single player but also use it for online with bop on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,677 ✭✭✭JimBurnley

I think it works best all with same base level car, whether it be the kart or Clio (of course can agree and try others next time). Level playing field and all that

I had the most fun with the karts.

I am ready to move on from front wheel drive cars now and want to proceed to front engine rear wheel drive cars.

For the closest racing, same spec cars are the best, but I also like Balance of Performance regulations as you can drive cars with different layouts.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,969 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Fully agree same cars as there can be a big difference between them, even at the same pp. I just don't know if day i but a Supra and tune it up but then would bop bring it back to base online so we could all use the same Supra, i just wouldn't have to worry about buying a 2nd one and keeping it at base level if that makes sense?

Wouldn't mind some fast and furious style cars for races.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,287 ✭✭✭✭Jordan 199

For the next races I set up, Supra's will be involved as will wet weather.

    So for example:

2020 Toyota Supra base model at Monza driving in torrential rain with traction control disabled.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 423 ✭✭DarC_Kn1ght

Shouldn't be disabling any assists people want to use imo

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,287 ✭✭✭✭Jordan 199

I'll be on about 8.30 tonight. Make sure you have an unmodified 2020 Toyota Supra in your garage as we will be racing in them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,287 ✭✭✭✭Jordan 199

I have a room setup called Nice Bleedin Alloys Bud.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,677 ✭✭✭JimBurnley

Was a wee bit early for me, am usually online around 10pm. Did you get many races in?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,287 ✭✭✭✭Jordan 199

I didn't stay on for long Jim as I was a tired. I'll probably be on next weekend anyway.

  • Registered Users, Subscribers, Registered Users 2 Posts: 250 ✭✭SeamusAFA

Only did 1 online race was too tired lol

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,414 ✭✭✭✭flazio

I did a nations cup race which was karts around a Willow Spings track called Horse Thief Mile. It did not go well.

    This too shall pass.
