Can someone help me fix a minor screw up on my part

I was trying to access voicemail abroad and read the wrong code and deleted all the call forwarding diverts 🤦🏻‍♂️(##004#)

Can someone tell me how to re enable voicemail diverts? I think I need something like **61*00353865xxxxxxxx to divert to my voicemail, will that work?

Also, does anyone know how to check my voicemail abroad? I tried my phone number with a 5 but it didn't bring up the menu and instead went to leave a message

For the voicemail, as soon as the prompt starts, press #

If you're not brought to the messages right away, you might get another prompt to type your password, but that should be it. Don't wait until you hear the beep to press # or it's too late and you have to hang up and start again.

Was in UK last week,my data kept dropping out and then came back to 3G. I'd get 4g/5G at times. Was on o2.

I noticed that GoMo didn't work at all (data/calls) in Luxembourg, back to normal once I got back to France on a recent trip.

Im going to get a Vodafone PAYG SIM tomorrow to see if it works.

I got a SIM today and 4g/5g working perfectly.

How will that when in rural areas?

I managed to find the cause of the coverage issues I was having on GoMo by running some tests on an Eir SIM. If the phone is connected on LTE band 28, you're lucky to get even 1 meg down! But on band 20 in the same location, you'll get about 10-20. I don't know if it's a fault or not but I wouldn't hold much hope of getting it resolved via the usual support channels.

Hi all. My phone is a Pixel 8pro and I am ment to have 5g coverage. But I have never seen the phone connected to 5g.

Is this a pixel issue by any chance???

Band 28 is lower down the band than 20 so more coverage and lesser capacity.

Are both bands from the same mast, if so how far away is the mast?

It's hard for me to tell, I'm on iOS so don't have the same visibility as on Android. But Eir do have less towers in south Drogheda so it's either the train station or behind Funtasia, both of which are a fair bit from me. Vodafone and Three are on a tower at the rugby club which is closer to me, and probably explains why my Vodafone signal is much better.

Comreg's Siteviewer will indicate where the eir masts are, closest could be the one you're connected to

I've decided to keep my new GOMO number instead of porting but people are still contacting me through Whatsapp on the old no how does that work?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 3,678 ✭✭✭Glaceon

If you want to use the new number in WhatsApp, you'll need to change it in there. Go to Settings > Account > Change number. There's an option there to notify your contacts that the number has changed, it adds a little banner into the chats to inform them.

I'm in Germany for a few weeks & weirdly cannot make or receive calls. Data & SMS are working fine, I was onto GoMo support & to be fair they tried a few things but didn't help. Luckily WhatsApp is working fine so not the end of the world but still strange.

I found turning off WiFi calling helped when this happened me in Poland.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 736 ✭✭✭babelfish1990

WiFi Calling requires high quality WiFi, both uplink and downlink. If you are in a hotel, shopping centre etc, the WiFi is often highly contended, and likely worse than when you are at at home. You might be better turning off WiFi Calling in Germany, where roaming is free in any case. Unlikely to be a GoMo problem.

Thanks for the suggestion but I already tried all combinations of WiFi on/off, WiFi calling on/off & even changing the APN as a suggestion from GoMo support. Coincidentally I was in Poland before I travelled to Germany & didn't have the problem there.

Am I too hopeful to think GoMo would roll out e-sims? Especially since Sky has done so.

Try putting it on aeroplane mode for 3 mins (or thereabouts), then back again. It works, from time to time.

My sister was telling me about a random issue she was having - she gets a notification in her phone to tell her she has a voicemail from gomo, but when she checks her voicemail she has none. If she swipes the notification away it comes back again after a few hours. I had no idea how to fix this, I'm also with gomo and have never had this issue. Anyone with similar?

Ive been asking them this on a six monthly basis for the last three years (I want to get an e-sim only iPhone). The answer every time has been "not now, and no immediate plans". If anything, the earlier responses were more optimistic whereas the most recent ones have been more of a plain "No". At this stage I may have to move carrier, which will be a killer as I'm on the original €9.99 tariff and have great reception everywhere I need it.

The GoMo World e-sim works very well, I've used it on numerous occasions when overseas and never had an issue.

Thanks for the suggestion but I'm back in Ireland for almost two weeks. Everything working fine here & GoMo have me a months credit for the inconvenience.

    Fair play to them.

Happening to me as well on iPhone SE. Very annoying

She has a Samsung s20fe, so it's not OS specific. Interesting.

for some reason I’ve started to get voicemails and I can’t disable them

Kind of same here and the reason is mainly because my ring length has reduced down to about 12 seconds so I’m missing most calls and my previous codes are not working to extend the ring length to 30 seconds and also can’t see anything on the website
