Shamrocks have named TJ, Eoin Cody, Adrian and Paddy Mullen along with Niall Shortall in their forward line for the Village match tomorrow. Colin Fennelly is listed in the subs. Looks a different team. Be interesting to see who starts. Brian Cody was an interested spectator at Kells Road today

Good win for Mooncoin against Dunnamaggin, hard fought game but didn't relinquish the lead.

Fair play to Comer to pull a gutsy performance out of the bag like that when needed most. After 20 mins there looked likelly to be only one winner but sport is a funny thing . Glenmore have definitely regressed from the last couple of years and look to be in serious trouble with Eoin Murphy being a serious loss at this stage of the year.

Was Michael Murphy injured for Comer?

Really looking forward to todays game between Village and Shamrocks. Can the Shamrocks pick it up yet again for championship or have they left it too late for once??

I wouldn’t agree with you about Glenmore there could be a backlash from them yet, it’s the same old story they probably took Erin’s Own for granted.

Good result. Feels like Mooncoin are coming in a little under the radar this year despite making county final last year. They are the team all of the seeded teams will be looking to avoid in the quarter final draw.

jaysus they are not that bad jonnie and I thought the two Waterford men gave them a bit of punch, I was working yesterday and I don’t have clubber but by all accounts the goalie made a balls of a few goals and when a team gets A run on you and a bit of momentum, well then it’s hard to reel them back would you not agree with that?

I would agree if a team gets a run it's hard to turn around but they were all over the place from about 20/25 mins onwards all over the field. Remember they got to a league final last year if I'm not mistaken and were hurling v well. Nowhere near that form at the minute imo.

Do you think either the village or ballyhale would prefer to meet Glenmore, I wouldn’t think so

Did someone on this tread said earlier that Eddie Brennan was going shite with Moycarky

Top call on the B&W, hope you got a good amount on. They outworked Carrickshock in a very low quality match in Inistioge.

First half was dreadful, both sides hit some terrible wides and the overall standard was poor. Carrickshock edged ahead at the start of the 2nd half and got a goal. I thought they'd pull clear but some awful wides and at least two or three very good goal chances that they failed to take gave B&W the chance to battle back and they did that with some accurate shooting that neither side had shown any indication that they could do in the 1st half gave them the lead which they clung onto. Carrickshock's forwards in the last 15 minutes were bad and really were lacking in workrate. Black and Whites are a very limited side this year but fair play to them today they did enough to deserve their win. But I'd assume that they're the side that all the teams will want to draw in the quarter finals.

I wouldn't think so either but that has nothing to do with you saying Glenmore have improved from last year. They haven't imo and looking at the village/shamrocks game, you would have to say they'll be favorites to go down. So from a league final and hurling well, it looks like they're in trouble this year

When is the quarter final draw?

Was someone saying David Franks was a savage coach and now they're in a relegation final having lost to B&W?

Intermediate wicked tight this year really. Everyone capable of beating everyone on a going day.

Quilty beating the shamrocks by himself

Franks involved with Wexford and ballygunnar this year not c shock

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 132 ✭✭jonniegoogle

I don't think Frank's involved with the Shocks??

C shock will be very disappointed with there forwards loads of scoreable chances missed which happens in semi finals hard to call who will get over the line in the relegation final

Fair play to b&w s they won the game they needed to like comer yesterday

Goals were the difference between shamrocks and village should be a great game between them and glen more

Who ever goes down will make intermediate even more of a bear pit next year

Scoreline is tough on the village

They suffered blow after blow with the goals and McDermott going off injured but they kept going and got back level

Then saved a penalty and it breaks to TJ, who does what he does, and they couldn’t pick themselves up off the canvas again

Shamrocks pulled away then and nobody will relish facing them from here on

    draw for quarter finals.

    Dicksboro v O Loughlins, Ballyhale v Thomastown,Mullinavat v Erin’s Own, Bennettsbridge v Tullaroan.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 313 ✭✭jamesbond2022

Franks managed c shock in 2014 after retiring they got relegated that year

He went back playing in 2015 when the they won intermediate county title and intermediate all Ireland

He finshed up playing and has been with b Gunnar since was with Wexford seniors last year and Wexford u20s the year before with Rossitor when they beat kk in nowlan park

Fair enough. Misunderstood the original post, apologies.

That`s their championship won for this year. Relegation games can take on a life of their own. BW and Comer were in the same boat really insofar as they`ve known for a couple of weeks they were in relegation and had time to process it whereas Carrickshock and Glenmore had to pick themselves up from the disappointment of last week.

You have to hand it to Ballyhale. The Village were unlucky to lose young Mac Dermott who was causing problems but as the game went on there was only going to be one winner. Whoever drops down to intermediate will have a great chance of coming straight back up but I`d say whoever drops to junior could be down for a while.

    Intermediate quarter finals

    Danesfort v The Rower

    Tullogher v Mooncoin

    Lisdowney v St Martins

Young Irelands v Blacks and Whites

I don't know but by all reports he's on a good financial package so I'd say people are ready and waiting with the daggers once things go wrong.

I think it's more than a cliche to say Cody won't have ever felt pressure on the sideline like he will for the relegation final.
