Tempted to stay up for tonight’s game but will probably wait to watch highlights tomorrow……

Would like to see Hughill get at least 45mins…..if we don’t sign any other striker during this Window he is likely to get minutes this Season.

    • I see he is after going out on loan today to Wigan Athletic.

Wonder will ETH be happy to start the Season with just Rasmus and Zirkzee…..as Rashford is very ineffective upfront.

I have a load of beer in the fridge so I'm gonna stay up for it. Buzzing for the new season to start, it's a really exciting time to be a United fan. The backroom and boardroom foundations that INEOS are putting in place are every bit as important as the onfield ones albeit they are longer tail.

It's sickening, absolutely fuckin sickening how far the Glazers allowed the club to fall but its testament to just how much of a juggernaut we are that despite their lack of effort there have been numerous trophies won since the GOAT retired, albeit not the big 2.

There are just far too many positives surrounding the club at the moment to allow the trivialties to wreck my buzz. Long may it last.

I imagine Zirkzee and Hojlund will both be involved in most games. One coming on after 65~ mins when defenders are tiring and to give an alternative approach. Maybe you source a third centre forward as well for more rotation and to cover an injury but with 6 wingers/inside forwards on the books it’s unlikely.

Two weeks today to the community shield and I couldn’t be more excited for it. Hopefully we have another couple of players in and out by the Fulham game in just under three weeks.

On transfers, this was an interesting watch to kill a bit of time before the Arsenal game 😁

    Edit: Wrong thread

I think the biggest thing that can be taken from this is that INEOS felt that a massive change was needed in the coaching set up of the club.

Fair point about them stepping up in club level.

I'm optimistic for the season ahead but there's always that feeling of not getting too excited.

Oh I gettcha man, we've turned alot of corners in the last 10 years but the bulk of that was playing staff. The INEOS era is root and branch rejigging. I'm not expecting to win anything major in the next 2 years but we should be challenging for the big trophies after that.

The stadium for tonight’s game looks really good. Still prefer Old Trafford though 😉

Manchester United XI: Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Yoro, Maguire, Amass; Casemiro, Collyer, Mount; Amad, Hojlund, Rashford

Subs: Heaton, Vitek, Bennett, Evans, Fish, Murray, Eriksen, Hannibal, Fletcher, Mather, McTominay, Oyedele, Scanlon, Antony, Sancho, Wheatley

Tempted to stay up for first half to see how Amass and Yoro do in defence.

Will be interesting to see if Mount plays as a no 10.

Hope Arsenal have a decent team out in first half to test how likes of Collyer and Amad cope.

He signed a loan with them a couple of days ago, he didnt go to the States with the squad.

We really need to sign another striker this summer. Signing Zirkzee might improve our goals tally overall but he's not someone who screams goals.

I would be happy with a sensible signing of an experienced striker.

Looking forward to seeing how Collyer and Amass do in a reasonably strong team.

I wouldn't be standing under that thing if it was in OT.

Just don't see how we can look at signing another striker when midfiejd is such a mess.

Hojlund, zirkzee abd Rashford will need to be enough for one position, imo.

Plastic pitches in summertime is a joke.

Pity with rasmus . Amass serious composure on ball . Collyer covers alot of ground

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,942 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

Id say the players have been told to pull up if they feel anything. Clear we're taking no risks this pre season.

Wouldn't be too worried about rasmus.

Amass looking absolutely silky on the ball.
