Only just in door from game. These umpires and how they miss these crucial calls. Like you could see net bulge from other side of field.

Lots be positive though for Cork. Thought we were better team bar awful wides and few bad decisions at crucial times I thought lot of lads look promising.

Hate blaming officials but some tne decisions were comical.

Some tasty hurlers in that Cork side so something to look forward to

So the Referee was wearing a Tipp jersey you are saying?

Was at the game as well, I'm going to stop going to Cork v Tipp U20 finals on the Ennis road, we lost the last one as well!

No complaints, Tipp sharper, first to the ball, took their chances, very handy back 6… and a cracking point to win it.

BOC should have acted sooner on the subs, he has a big panel and some players were just having an off day. Umpires way off the level, we saw the bulge in the net from the stand ffs, the keeper (?) then sitting on the sliothar. A prior point waved wide but the same left side umpire nodding that it was in. Some very soft frees but Tipp players knew what they were doing, later on they got away with it hauling the Cork forward down. Way bigger Tipp support at the match, not sure if that contributed? Just a bad day at the office but well done to Tipp and it was a good game in the end. Fingers crossed we get the results elsewhere on Sunday!

Not sure if I would be that harsh on the umpire.

From the replay it is clear to me that he is watching for a square ball which was a very distinct possibility.

Hard luck to Cork. That is a fine team. It will be no surprise to see a lot more of some of these players at senior. I was really impressed with O Connor at 12. Won a mountain of ball and very athletic. Looks a ready made replacement for Harnedy whenever that legend hangs up his boots.

If you read through the thread.... most would say Tip got their frees easier..... most would say we had around 10 more wides than Tip.... most would say we scored a clear goal that wasn't given....

The above is a reasonable account of what happened.

You can nit pick all you want, as is your style, says a lot really.

I've commented before on your posting style, it is quite clear you won't change.

A bit slow with the subs maybe, especially taking the half back off.

We said before that a few U20s would make the breakthrough, Mullins and Cunningham in particular. Definitely another few from this team will make it.

A pity we didn't win or go to et, felt we had the legs on them, another game v Offaly would have been interesting.

Agree on Ennis Road, I was there v Tip the last time, screaming for the defender to take him down on the 40, ran through and goaled, never liked that ground.

Thought Tipp got a lot of frees that they were clever in playing for especially on high challenges, but were still fouls or silly fouls from Cork e.g. the blatant push in the back on a puck out at a crucial time.

I think Tipp tackled better more so than the ref being wrong on free calls.

We were very lucky. Had it gone to ET Id have had Cork at 1/10 to win it.

It's just the way you described it, it felt as if you are saying the referee was wearing Tipp jersey all night. Tipp had also less wides than us and that wasn't a conspiracy theory.

You are the only one talking conspiracy theory.

The goal should have been spotted

Tip got more handy frees than Cork- its not a hard concept to fathom.

We had 10 more wides, as I have already said, we threw it away.

    Your nitpicking is tiresome fella.

I love this thread....sometimes I pop in a comment but I usually dont as i wouldn't consider myself an expert on the games as i never played it......but its fierce handy for updates and the general concensus of games.

Opinions are opinions…this constant pulling up posters of comments they made is getting annoying...you dont agree then just ignore it

Sick of personal arguing on Boards.

You seem to be the one nitpicking to be fair and coming across as a bit of a sour loser. Cork goal should have stood and that's a fair point but Cork also hit 16 wides which had nothing to do with the ref. Can't blame the ref for Cork hitting 16 wides. I thought Tipp were the better team marginally on the night but Cork will be back again.

A really good point on the support. Tipp had more which I was bit surprised with considering performance of senior team and how Tipp fans got bit of slating for turnout last week.

You made good points about Tipp and how they deserved it but I think myself Cork have more players from two sides that could be ready take next step. Tipp got lot luck. But listen every team needs that and best of luck to them in final. Tipp are always dangerous in final.

Its actually hard call that final as i think offaly are better than last year plus they have learned from it you would feel too. Not mention Tipp robbing them in minors couple years ago with last minute goal and im sure few from both sides were on that.

Really poor first half. We keep losing possession in midfield so defence under constant pressure.

Wexford look sharper and hungry all around

6 down with 10 min left. Playing better in the 2nd half but not getting the scores. Wexford well deserve their lead

Jeez that's some hiding from Wexford.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,743 ✭✭✭The White Feather

No complaints at all there unlike last night! Wexford superior.

Management should have reacted quicker in the first half when we couldn't get past midfield. Fixed it in second half and game more even but when you are far behind at this level, its too hard to come back.

    Fairly bad performance overall.

    Got what they deserved.

From my experience of standing at goals post , your eyes can be drawn towards the incoming attackers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,658 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

That was poor from minors. First time in while in hurling where overall minors looked poor. In fairness can happen just hope it's not start of trend for few years.

Tipp certainly more composed.. they were always able to get a score when required... Cork were playing with more intensity... will b disappointed with tipp goal.. wides were a shame... some fine players on that Cork team..

AAt Least this might quieten the talk of having Ben Connor as senior manager... Ben reminds me of Liam cahill on the sideline... that approach may work at underage... but as Liam is finding out now it doesn't work at senior

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,307 ✭✭✭Straight Talker

I felt giving the minor managers job to John Meyler was bit of a mistake. He's been around various coaching set ups over the years. That other Frank Murphy lackey Seanie McGrath is a selector as well i think

Great Cork hurling men and they try their best etc but it's time to give some fresher and newer voices a go at the job imo.

It's time to stop throwing the pro Frank old guard here there and everywhere.

Anyway hopefully the results go our way today. Going out of the championship just when we're coming into form would be devastating.

After the first 2 games we are in probably the best position we could be, especially the fixtures being as they are.

If Limerick and Waterford draw today it'll be a right kick in the nuts.
